Was Jesus politically inspired?

Saint Paul who brought Christianity to Europe, had never met Jesus yet it was his version of Christianity that got known. Christianity was a Jewish sect, yet Christians in the west do not eat pork, keep the Saturday holy etc etc. Jesus left the Christian administration to James his brother which probably would have been a closer Judaic version of Christianity.

Paul’s version of Christianity really kisses the Rome’s feet. Like Judas the 13th disciple that gave Jesus up may not have even existed. If 13 people were going to go out of there way putting there lives at risk following a heretic it seems to me this situation would not occur.

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% sure in Jesus Christs divinity. Paul used to kill Christians but he must have been 100% convinced himself in Jesus to elaborate and change the version of Christianity to fit the west.

Also Herald the king of the Jews was a puppet king for the Romans, he didn't have an ounce of Jewish blood. This is what led many rebellions at the time and Josephus who was also claiming to be the Prophet hated Herald did not mention anything about the killing of the innocence in his works, which is mentioned in the bible. Did Jesus really mean it when he called himself the King of the Jews? In them days only a person of Jewish blood and desendant of King David could be king, Jesus was both and Herald wasn't wanted.

Says who? you? Paul never met Jesus? Only blinded by Him. I am from (in) the west, and I eat pork. The Christian Sabbath is for all practical purposes on Sunday. James never amounted to much. Paul on the other hand had a great deal to do with Christianity...unless you know that Paul did not write his letters, and someone else (like James), did.

I think we are confused...

Was the history channel talking about Herod? And did they say he was the King of the Jews? There is just too much confusing here.

I think you are correct, Paul's lightening the load, not requiring hundreds of commandments to be followed, relaxing Leviticus food requirements, eliminating adult circumcision to join the sect of Jews that Paul was creating with Jesus as messiah...it was quite political, quite controversial...very much the force that started christianity rollling. That and the thought that martyring oneself, dying without denouncing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour...to the lions or whoever else...was a powerful as well. We see some similarities today...

And yes it appear other disciples as well as James and the rest of family was not in total agreement with Paul's methods..which did appear to be end justifies the means politics.

For secular historians, telling the story isn't quite the same, is it? Somehow the "nuances" are missed or left out. Every thing is covered (who, what, when, where, sometimes how), but never "Why"
