Re: What is the Good News?
Well, it's the good news (gospel) of the kingdom, isn't it? Why is it such good news?

Re: What is the Good News?
the good news is the salvation of man through the blood of christ, and his defeating death through his resurrection. simply put jesus christ is the good news.

O.K., but it says the "gospel of the kingdom shall be preached..." So, the good news is the kingdom. Now, the way I read it the kingdom is "within", and "at hand." So it would seem that the good news is that the kingdom is within, and that it's realization is as near as informing everyone about it. IOW, everyone has a little, holographic if you will, piece of the kingdom within, and as soon as everyone realizes it the Kingdom without, or the extant Kingdom emerges.

Re: What is the Good News?
Universal salvation is possible through the love and sacrifice of God through Jesus Christ. It is a gift and cannot be earned. God reached out to humanity and invites us to reach back to Him through cultivating love towards God and each other. The acceptance of this will transform our individual souls and has the power to transform the world.

I also think He included a place for "thinkers" beyond the norm (not that the norm is dumb by any means...I'm part of the norm). So I believe that includes you Cat.

Re: What is the Good News?
hmm what is the good news?
Well the word Gospel means good news...if we read 1 Corinthians 15:1-7 we see the simplest form of the gospel is Jesus died for our sins, was entombed for 3 days and he has been raised.

No, The Good News is that we are saved if we accept the gift of salvation. What you describe leads up to the Good News. The Good News is the future, not history.

Re: What is the Good News?
The good news is that God loves us and wants a relationship with us. the greatest commandment is to love the lord thy God with all thy heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love thy neighbor as thyself. That is the kingdom of God.
Jesus came to effect that relationship with God and others. Where we have failed in sin, He conquered with His life, demonstrating such a relationship is possible through the teachings of Scripture (OT & NT). Where we fall short, He completes it through the work on the Cross. It is like trying to climb up to the top of a building but the ladder is to short, so Jesus reaches down and grabs our hand and pulls us up.

Re: What is the Good News?
God’s Kingdom—Are You Getting the Sense of It?
"As for the one sown upon the fine soil, this is the one hearing the word and getting the sense of it."—MATTHEW 13:23.
HAVE you ‘got the sense of’ what God’s Kingdom is? Concepts of ‘the kingdom of the heavens’ have differed widely over the centuries. A common belief among some church members today is that the Kingdom is something God puts within a person’s heart at conversion. Others feel it is a place where good people go after death to enjoy eternal bliss. Still others claim that God has left it to humans to bring about the Kingdom on earth by their working to instill Christian teachings and practices into social and governmental affairs.
However, the Bible clearly shows that the Kingdom of God is not an institution on earth. It is neither a condition of heart nor the Christianizing of human society. True, a correct understanding of what this Kingdom is leads to great changes in the lives of those who exercise faith in it. But the Kingdom itself is a divinely instituted heavenly government that brings about God’s will, eliminating the effects of sin and death and restoring righteous conditions on earth. Already this Kingdom has taken power in the heavens, and soon "it will crush and put an end to all these [human] kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite."—Daniel 2:44; Revelation 11:15; 12:10.

Ok I can see your thinking but you even say we are saved if we accept the gift of salvation well how can you even get to the future without knowing about the gift to even become saved.
The Kingdom that is in the good news is the present not future or the past.
Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Sorry but if you dont realize what he did for you, then how would you know about the Kingdom, the personal relationship and everything which all comes from the Salvation?
