Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Tuskagee Airmen and Edward Scissorhands (just returned them today to the school's library.)

The first one is about the Army Air Corps's 99th Division (the first "colored" combat squad) and the second was a Tim Burton "dark fantasy"ish story about a mechanical person who was unfinished because his "father" (an inventor) died before he could give Edward "human" hands. The late Vincent Price played the inventor.

loved Tuskagee airmen also, phily.
I saw The Golden Compass, not bad.
also Hitman, very cool. I like action movies, however to me the actor was too good looking. He needed a scar or something. LOL. just my opinion.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Hmmm, quite a few oldies but goodies lately:

The Great Race; Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon and I think Natalie Wood.

Hang 'em High and Fistful of Dollars, gotta luv them ol' Spaghetti Westerns with Clint Eastwood. Speaking of which, also watched his two recent films: Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers.

And just for fun, found a goldie oldie for the hot rod muscle car aficionados; the original Vanishing Point, with an extended British release version for the "B" side. I just looooove them old Challengers, and Cleavon Little's performance was something else. I remember this one at the drive in movie theater when I was, ahem, much younger.

I recommend the film '10,000 bc'.

*nods*

A prehistoric epic that follows a young mammoth hunter's journey through uncharted territory to secure the future of his tribe.

10,000 BC (2008)

Michael Clayton: Excellent; gripping thriller - highly recommended.

Love in the Time of Cholera: So-so; probably does the novel a disservice.

The Other Boleyn Girl: Watchable period drama.

There Will Be Blood: Fan-bloody-tastic. Amazing film.

Thats unlikely. You probably saw the youtube clipping. That was originally a 40 minute speech trimmed down and music added. Anyone can do a pretty good job of making something like that look pretty silly. It was an excellent job (as your reaction to it showed) but dont be fooled into thinking that you actually saw the real talk given in the way it was meant to be given.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

August Rush
A quote from the movie.. "I believe in music the way some people believe in fairytales."
I would also add my own short comments. Blending of two music genres into one beautiful song. The thought that I might be meant to be more than I was born into. The universe has a magic which only some people can hear. That even the most extreme of circumstances that you find yourself in can be the stepping stone you needed to a very important goal you do not fully understand. If any of those tug at your heart, then watch this movie and gain the feeling that someone understood you.

If you are a musician, a person who feels music, then this would be worth watching. If you are not a musician then it might come across as a badly made movie.

I was joking? I wished to comment about his features... lol But for a male to say another male is attactive is a bit... "ooooh" So I added the last part, the footage I saw was 10mins long, and it was obviously cuttings but from what I saw, I felt his intentions.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Watched Micheal Clayton, not too bad a predictable twist for me, but all in all not a bad film

Watched Semi-pro... Hilarious... Will Ferrel is one of my favourtie actors and by far my favourite comedy actor... Want a laugh then get this.

Watched Be kind rewind, slow start.. Has it's moments, can be funny... The ending sells it. Not bad film

Watched Nims island.... Didn't like it at all... To be honest I didn't really pay attention the first 5mins did it for me lol... A childs film I suppose...

Watched Final Fantasy Advent child... Brief details on the other characters from the game, main focus is Cloud and Tifa... Nice CGI, Could have been more of a story than just continious fighting.... But yeah average lol I would guess you'd have to be a fan or player of the Final fantasy series...

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... And Spring.

Elegant and serene fable centred on a small wooden Buddhist temple in the middle of a lake. No car chases.
