Ferret-gram for Quahom1! *the cute smoke ferret delivers a quick address/message, then waits patiently for a reply*

crunchyroll - Anime - Yomigaeru Sora Rescue Wings

This is where I watch it (you don't need an account to watch this one, I believe because it isn't "mature audiences" rated.) Forewarning, though: episodes 5-8 have "flicker" difficulties which obscure the subtitles. Other than that, it's quite good in my opinion.

Yes, Scully is still gorgeous. Gotta consider; when she was younger, I was younger. She seems to be aging gracefully, which is all any of us can hope to do.

I was disappointed though. The storyline seemed leftover from the series, and one of the "off-mythos" plot lines at that. There was meager reference to the extended plot that ran throughout the series and the first movie, and that in passing.

Don't want to spoil it for anybody who hasn't seen and wants to. There was a little twist that made it almost worthwhile...the ambiguity of the relationship is finally over. Of course that tension is what helped drive the series, so it is kinda anti-climactic at this point, but fun just the same.

I'll buy it on DVD when it comes out, probably wait til it hits the markdown bin. Not worth seeing in the theater again. The sad part is that I suspect this is the swan song for this franchise.

I watched four episodes tonight. He and his girl friend are in trouble, and his commander is not happy either.

Thanks.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

I thought you might appreciate it (since you are Coast Guard, and this unit seems to work like the Coast Guard in some respects.)

I have watched it through again and wondered if there were any real life CG members that were like any of the Rescue Wings characters (there were a few Civil Air Patrol members I remember from 26 years ago that could fit a few characters, but that's not why I've bookmarked the series. )

Try to enjoy the rest of the series.

Indeed. It is the nature of the work (and a drive inside to help others), that brings such kinds of personalities together to make a cohesive force for good.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

"Bon Cop, Bad Cop" Two cops from the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec team up to stop a hockey council killer. Some subtitles but, definitely worth watching. Very realistic and funny, with drama and suspense.

I thought it to be an outstanding movie. Great for learning French/Canadian slang.

Eh, there are those far more smitten than I. But yes, I am a fan, from episode #1. Hooked from the start and enjoyed every moment immensely, at least until Duchovney left. The final year wasn't the same without him.

The hell of it is, I really don't care much for the guy. But the character he played was awesome.

Like most series, there were some contrived and hard to believe moments...you gotta bring your stars back for the next week. But all in all I thought the X-files were a very thought provoking and fun series, very intelligent and probing...Star Trek on steroids and brought down to earth, with a dash of Dick Tracy for good measure.

It has been fun, the franchise will be missed.

Has anyone seen the film "After Life" by Hirokazu Kore-Eda? Any thoughts?

I particularly like the downbeat setting of the building; old run-down buildings always have a spiritual dimension for me these days, although I hated them as a kid.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Movie -slash- musical I guess... lol "Jesus Christ Superstar".... Interesting lol.... The singers alot of them had amazing voices and it was well put together for dance scenes and so on and so forth it was timed well, and everyone seemed to work real hard, The only downside I saw was that the lead, jesus his voice lacked power most of the time and we kept having to turn up the system to hear alot of his parts. A little like The modern day Romeo and Juliet clashing with Sweeney 'the demon barber of fleet street' Todd, Yeah interesting, Would say it is worth a watch, but, give it some creative space...

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

I haven't seen JC Superstar since I was a kid, and other than one or two songs I wasn't really impressed. Try Godspell, it's a little lighter hearted for an artsy telling of the Jesus story.

I bought a couple of oldies to watch: the Pink Panther and the Pink Panther strikes again. Gotta love old Peter Sellers, but the second movie I really could have lived OK without, just a bit too campy for my taste. I must admit some of the physical comedy was fun.

Also picked up "the Breakup," Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Anniston. Been wanting to see this one for several months, anticipating a rather comical knock-down-drag-out, he said / she said kind of comedy. It fell short. I guess it needed to in order to have a happy ending, but I wanted to see piles of clothes set on fire and sugar in the gas tank. Nowhere near. Bummer.
