Re: What music are you listening to?

Yes, Hendrix, "Burning of the Midnight Lamp." And before that on my playlist:
  • Pearl Jam: "Last Exit"
  • Smashing Pumpkins: "Quiet"
  • Soundgarden: "Loud Love"
  • Jane's Addiction:
    • "Ain't No Right"
    • "No One's Leaving"
    • "Stop!"
    • "Mountain Song"
  • Jucifer: "Glamourpuss"
  • Hole: "Plump"
  • Marilyn Manson: "The Beautiful People"
  • NIN: "Hurt"
  • The Doors: "The Unknown Soldier"
  • The Samples: "Conquistador"
  • Dead Can Dance: "Song of the Dispossessed"
  • Dave Matthews Band: "The Dreaming Tree"
  • The Doors: "People Are Strange"
Guess it's one of those days. Rock and Roll!

Re: What music are you listening to?

Speaking of rolling stones...

This weekend I caught a program on PBS telly called "Rock 'n Roll Circus" (or something like that). Anyone seen it? Everyone was so young, lol...Jagger went crazy...of course.

Anyway, what music am I listening to? Well, obviously I came inside to write about it, but a minute ago or so, I was listening to the rain falling through the pine trees and onto the wooden deck. Just something beautiful about it. I am out here toward Louisiana, and the music of the woods plays differently than it does on my stone patio back at my urban oasis. The rain is the rain wherever it falls, and it always stirs the spirit and the senses, but it makes the song new wherever it plays.

InPeace,

Re: What music are you listening to?

Ah, the rain. I miss the rain of the east coast. Back in South Carolina, huge thunderstorms crush us about every summer afternoon. Big, thick clouds pour their humidity down in fists of rain. Sometimes I would just stand out there, getting drenched. Even when a thunderstorm broke in the night, you could do that and be comfortable in the mild or warm humidity.

Damn, I took that for granted. Along with the trees, that was one of the things I quickly and acutely missed when I moved out this way. Out here in the fields of wheat, trees and humidity are rare, and our moisture comes mostly from snowmelt. This time of year, though, we get some drizzle. Water is a really important element for me, I think. So the rainy season, mild as it may be here, is most welcome.

As far as music goes, though, I'm listening to Smashing Pumpkins' Adore this morning.

Juanes

I think he's Colombian, possibly some of you know of him as he's apparently huge in Latin American music. He came to Taiwan not so long ago to promote his new CD. Great pop music.

Yep, hirsute is cute!

They've got more bluesy as their beards have grown I think.

I'm going to see them (again!) on their imminent UK tour.
