For Love of God and "neighbor", enough to lay one's life down defending that "neighbor". Yes you are correct. That is God's way for Christians.

And a voice came out of the cloud, saying: "This is my Son, the one that has been chosen. Listen to him.

"Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword. matthew 26;52

Um, taken into proper context, Jesus said that because Peter just got done lopping some poor unarmed *******'s ear off, being the rash fool that Peter was...

moral of the story: Even in our Zeal for God, we must use caution, else we could really hurt someone...

yes peter thought he was doing the right thing , after all he was trying to protect Jesus. but Jesus put him right didnt he .

Violence directed against individuals—whether they are good or bad—is not the way of love. so people who resort to violence belie their claim to be acting in imitation of a loving God.
True religion must follow a pattern of love, which includes showing love even to enemies

Yeah, he was telling Peter his actions were not proper for the situation. He didn't tell Peter to drop his sword. He was saying "don't use it where it isn't required". If he wanted Peter to forego a weapon he would have told Peter to drop it, he wouldn't need it. But earlier in the Gospels Jesus is specific about keeping and bearing the sword when needed.

Funny how you seem to forget those parts...

Well mee, then you'd love the Coast Guard. Because we'll shoot, then come and patch back up, good as new! lol

Lucky for you I'm a "barbarian" with a heart, and a knee for God...

Yeah, Jesus put him right alright. Peter denied Christ three times within a matter of hours.

Now what worse damage did Peter do? The ear? or the denial of Christ? Talk about sticking a knife into one's heart...

Love has nothing to do with violence. Love is the whereforall, and sometimes defense is required against those that would remove that whereforall. Man was made a passionate creature, by design, on purpose. Passion sometimes takes the form of violence.

This is reality. That is why we need God to guide us personally. That is one on one.

I might die by the sword, but I might live a day longer than those who do not pick up the sword, and that will give me one more day to become right with God, and maybe give a few others one more day to become right with God...ever think about that?

revelation 7;9-10

now a "great crowd" of peace-loving Christians "out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues" is streaming toward Jehovah’s great spiritual temple for worship. (Revelation 7:9, 10, 15)

They are described at Isaiah 2:2-4: "It must occur in the final part of the days that the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. And many peoples will certainly go and say: ‘Come, you people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.’ For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples.

And they will HAVE to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

its all happening and no litral swords in sight

Re: Who Will Inherit The Earth?

who will inherit the earth ?

No flag-waving ultranationalists

but one peaceful, united people out of all nations.

They are truly neutrals in a warring world.

After telling how they ‘beat swords into plowshares,’ Micah 4:1-5 describes their spiritual prosperity and their prospect of living forever on earth in unity.

The prophecy contrasts them with peoples of this world, saying:

"For all the peoples, for their part, will walk each one in the name of its god; but we, for our part, shall walk in the name of Jehovah our God to time indefinite, even forever."

But as they continue to walk in God’s name, they meet up with many pressures from a violent world.

If you are driven by love and peace... Can you be neutral?

if a person listens to Jesus they would not be part of the warring nations.

Jesus said of his true followers: "They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world."—John 17:16.
What does the record show as to Jehovah’s Witnesses in this regard? Have they given convincing evidence that they are no part of the world?

yes indeed
Jehovah’s Witnesses have been strictly neutral in all conflicts
