Wipe it clean.

I have noticed latley there has been many events happening, which has lead many of us to be embarassed or offended, or shocked, or insulted.... And many "I am sorry for that" "Sorry for this" "I apologise."

Well, I got an eraser here.... I say we wipe this ENTIRE slate clean.... All that has happened I say we hold no grudge or harbor ill from it. Let's remember why we are really here on this forum...

To learn, grow, share your opinion, view others opinions, have fun and be a community of friends from all sorts of creeds, faiths, religions, backgrounds....

Re: Wipe it clean.

I appreciate your sentiments Alex, I really do. But recently there have been some highly charged debates going on that strike at the very heart of what faith and belief are. My own role in them as instigator of a position hitherto virtually absent at CR can be viewed as disruptive and polarising but the issues I raise are surely valid subjects of debate on a site such as this. I have been coming here for some time now and my position has evolved to this point in large part due to my interactions with the people here. The current conversations are the product of my time here as a whole. Several of the threads I have started and contributed heavily to have been some of the most active threads here at CR . Nobody is obliged to respond to anything, they do so because they want to. It is sometimes difficult and highly charged, but this is where it is at at the moment. I am sure it will run its course and we will all still be friends at the end of it.

I've said similar a few times in the past...

Funny how the "agreeable" threads fairly quickly run out of steam. It is those where there is either a polarizing dichotomy of views, or a genuine exploration, that seem to provoke the most thorough and deep discussions.

I still do think the greatest challenge in all of this, is to have such polarizing discussions in a respectful and level headed manner. For the most part I think we've come a long way in a short time in this regard.

Re: Wipe it clean.

Sure I am not saying to just stick to threads you agree to just, insults and such are not a needed aspect to debates, and people may have a different opinion to one another that though is no need for us to disrespect one another.

I think it takes a little friction for locomotion.
