God is infinite and completely authoritative. Through no fault of their own, some do not have the ability to choose. I am NOT saying they cannot be taught.

Francis--you really are the devil's advocate, aren't you?

Don't you hate the smilies? I am working on losing them, but they are just so cute and handy.

Re: Wrath of God?

I love you Inlove and Im sorry that I am using you as an example..

The stuff that francis says offends me and Im sure a few others..

The stuff Silas says offends you and 3/4 of this forum...

Why does everyone jump all over Silas talking about Christian beliefs on a Christian forum and not francis who completely hates everything we believe and stand for as Christians and is bold enough to say it. Why is he censored and not her? What comes to my mind is that in the latter days what is good is called bad and what is bad is called good... and many will hate us for His name's sake.. I cant help but see the similarities.

Doesnt anyone see this besides me? Im curious.

Re: Wrath of God?

I also think that Francis' remark above was inappropriate for this forum...even if I can understand some of the motivation behind it. This is just my opinion, but I think that the idea of CR is that when we post in a particular religion's forum we should try to be respectful, even where we disagree. No one is going to be perfect...we all shoot off one-liners...we're adults and human so there's bound to be some heated words for time to time, but in general I agree that a pattern of just taking shots is uncalled for, against the spirit of the forum if not the letter of the COC.

added: Faithful, I have seen the mods here make replies to pretty much every flavor of Christianity that posts here when they have made inappropriate remarks. It was not too long ago that Q and Juan both moderating comments from a couple of the more liberal members posting in this forum in the same way conservative members have been moderated.

There is a difference between attacking a person, and discarding a concept. When it becomes personal, no one has the right to belittle another.

Silas has issued expressions quite often that are blatently predjudicical toward others. That is quite different than throwing an off colored comment into the waters as bait and see who bights (bites).

Faithfulservant, don't worry about using me for an example. What I say and do here stands in Truth or it doesn't. I love you too. You are an intelligent woman and I admire you. And you love Christ Jesus.

The reason I have problems with Silas is because he will not listen to anyone but himself about Jesus. He condemns everyone. You and Dor are the only ones left.

Francis is very different from Silas, but she is also misunderstood. But it is not because she won't listen. She listens with all her heart.

Every now and then, she just speaks up. We may not like what she says too much when she says it, but by golly, I believe she speaks the Truth as she knows it.

So does Silas.

They seem to be in direct opposition to each other, but I have just got to admire both of them for telling the Truth as they each see it.

I don't know how to be any clearer on the subject.

I know where Silas is coming from, in a way. I just cannot understand why he claims to tell us about our Lord Jesus while insisting that we dwell constantly on the very things for which He came to deliver us.

I know it isn't easy. But I do love you, and I know you are sincere.

We will all get through it. Me, you, Silas, and Francis.

We already are doing that.

I apologize for losing my cool, but Silas has been beating me over the head about the Saviour who has been with me all along. I just wish he could see this.

InPeace,
InLove

Edited to add: There is no one here that I can name that Silas has not banished to Hell. Given enough rope, he will do it to you and Dor as well. That is why I am so frustrated with him. We have all tried to help him. I know he is sincere, but I know where he comes from, and I am not going there ever again, God help me.

Re: Wrath of God?

Hi Guys--

Okay--I've slept since my last post. Hopefully I will do better with the one I am writing here.

First of all, I apologize for talking about Silas and not to him. And I apologize for speaking for Francis. It isn't my place, just like it isn't my place to back up a statement like the one she made here. I wasn't supporting what she said--I was trying to make her laugh and maybe I did. But you are right. It was the wrong thing to say here. So, I'm sorry, everyone.

I will try to stay out of these sort of discussions from now on, if they are here in the Christian forum. Anger does give a foothold, and so I will try and look the other way. I cannot promise, though, that I will keep my mouth shut on the "Lib" board if he comes looking to preach there anymore.

Well, I'm trying here to compose something worthwhile, but I am not doing so well at it. So I will leave the issue alone now.

I'll see y'all around in less frustrating circumstances. Catch ya later.

InPeace,
InLove

Re: Wrath of God?

Inlove you remind me of someone and I cant think of who.. you say things then overthink them thinking you were slighting someone or may have overstepped your bounds... who did that to you? You havent said one thing wrong...ever. I dont think you have it in you to say something hurtful to someone and yet you are apologizing. Humility is beautiful and its humbling to those who are on the other side of it.

May God bless you richly. *hugs*

Re: Wrath of God?

...erm...sorry to have caused such controversy... with my last comment on this thread I was parodying lucifer's fall from grace, how he incurred the wrath of God, etc... but, hey... maybe I'm too clever for my own good with that one... the response I was looking for was "... hey, Lucifer tried that and see where it got him...", to which I would have added the acronym- "lol"....

and secondly... for the record, faithful servant...

I do not completely hate everything xtians believe in/stand for, as individuals or as a group... far from it, in fact....

but of course, u are free to believe what u like about me, and I in turn shall manifest from time to time as the much maligned one and u can beat me with big sticks...

You wont even say Christ... its xtians.. Sorry but some of us are fighting the worlds attempt at doing away with Christ. Your contempt cant be any more blatant for our Lord.. and yes I will call you on your rudeness.. if thats a big stick then you must have been sheltered in your life. Christians invented martyrdom so give it up.
