Christians gather for seaside Bible classes

by Sara Levy

Over 1,000 Christians are expected to descend on the seaside town of Eastbourne this weekend for the Bible by the Beach 2010 conference.

The event, aimed at Christians of all ages, includes lively worship, Bible teaching, and youth and children’s programmes.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Glory in the Cross”, and speakers will focus on the meaning of Christ’s death.

“Contrary to every appearance, the cross is a place of victory as Jesus conquers humanity’s enemy, Satan, and brings victory in a war that has raged throughout human recorded history and beyond,” said Mike Ovey, principal of Oak Hill Bible College, who will be speaking at the event.

In addition to seminars about Christ’s death, workshops at the conference will deal with maintaining hope in the face of suffering, and how to build healthy marriages.
