Christians urged to pray for Parliament

by Benjamin Graham

British Christians have been urged to pray for the new coalition government as part of an annual prayer event next month.

The seventh annual Week of Prayer for Parliament and Government is supported by the Evangelical Alliance, the Bible Society, and 24/7 Prayer International, and will take place from 5-11 June 2010.

Christian communities in Westminster and Whitehall will join with other Christians from across the UK to pray for those involved in politics.

“The Week of Prayer provides a significant and wonderful opportunity for us all together to seek God’s will for politics,” said Andrew Selous MP, chair of Christians in Parliament.

Prayer resource packs are available for any church and Christian group that wants to take part in the prayer campaign.
