I have a friend who is allergic to pork
She has a number of allergies, nothing life threatening, but we know her allergies well enough to plan dinners correction
(after all these years we otta! ;))
Some people have reported an allergy to pork after having Lyme disease. Or at least that's my experience. If I eat pork I will be sick the rest of the day. This started when I had Lyme disease. I have a few friends who have had the same issue.

I was born/grew up with this allergy (which is why I am an avid "label reader".)

Changing the subject here (and to add another person with an "interesting" allergy):

The "receipt" for Key Lime Pie, plus two different discussions about the pie (one is about where the pie came from and the other is a "discussion" about the host's allergy to egg whites...)

I love key lime pie.🥧🍋😋 (there was no symbol for lime)
Lemon milk pies are nice too. I'm not as into the lemon meringues, though my husband loves them.
Now if it had been a recipe for sour orange pie, I could have told another story about the friend I mentioned, the same one who is allergic to pork: She is also allergic to oranges.🍊
Mmm, citrus milk pies...😋🥧🍋

This reminds me of a Dexter episode (series 3 ep 7), where Dexter euthanize a person(as she requested) by giving her a new key lime pie, injecting it with sodium thiopental. That was her favourite pie.

(Afterthought, Rhetorical question: Would Dexter make a good member of this forum?)

Interesting.
I've heard of Dexter, but never saw any episodes.

This is something that a few members won't/can't eat due to the pork product, others can't eat due to the carbohydrates (combination of sugar and melon), but I'll post for those who can/will enjoy it:

In case it's taken down, the "receipt" is for a melon/prosciutto granita by Chef John.
