    ISIS: Sunni Muslims, or Heretics?

Iran has already offered to work with the Americans on the issue of Iraq: Iran will "consider" joint action with US in Iraq, Hassan Rouhani says - Telegraph Notice a sudden thaw in the news relating to Iran? Amarica agreed a nuclear deal, and the UK just re-opened their embassy in Tehran.

Is There One True Religion, One True Path to God?

Is this the same loving god who has condemned everyone to hell because they are stained with the sin of Adam? :)

The Orange on the Seder Plate: How myth works

I've never heard of any such people. What I have seen a lot of is criticism of the Israeli government. This is an different matter entirely.

    ISIS: Sunni Muslims, or Heretics?

I'd like someone to tell me that the American soldiers are not Christians, and then demonstrate why. :) I saw reports previously claiming the Saudi's were arming groups in Syria, of which this appears to be one. I wonder whether they had any support previously from USA/Europe as well, though...

    'You will burn in hell!'

You were the one who brought up the subject of Federal funding of non-scriptural activities, so I am keeping on topic. :) You want to make a stand on the issue, but refuse to consider anything other than a couple of sexual issues? Is this because you never considered that making war might be...

    'You will burn in hell!'

I always notice how people who post about things are very selective about what they criticise about governments. No big outcry about war and torture? No, instead it's an obsession with sex. :D

    'You will burn in hell!'

I never realised this bit was in the Bible. :)

    How about a hobbies board?

Plenty of space in The Lounge to start discussions. :) There's little point opening up a new section unless there's a clear demand already demonstrated. Otherwise, we end up with lots of little dead boards.

    Atheist board?

Well, we're "interfaith.org" a place to discuss matters of faith between peoples of faith. :) We do have areas for discussion of non-faith issues, as you note. There's nothing wrong with setting up any individual discussions on such topics as you see fit.

    Was the Minister Inappropriate

Like I said, a Christian priest emphasising that Christians go to Heaven is an integral part of Christianity. I am sure this is not a shock to most Jewish people. I would presume that if anyone had a problem with this, they might raise it with the priest before the service - but, ultimately, it...

    Baha'i democratic structure

Many thanks for the replies. :) So, just to clarify - see if I've got this right ... There are local worship groups - each local group has 9 elected representatives. Each country has a national body, made of up a team of 9 representatives, who are elected by a meeting of all local groups...

    Was the Minister Inappropriate

It's simply a facet of being Christian. However, different churches may place different emphasis on the fact.

    Baha'i democratic structure

Something I've always been curious about, since it was mentioned a very long time ago on these boards, is the voting system used for electing representatives of the Baha'i faith. It would certainly be interesting to know more about it - please do feel free to post any relevant links, and once...

    Discussing Matters of Faith:

I've removed the last few posts, which can be summed up as: "I know better than you" "Oh, no you don't" Which is the sort of exchange which is irrelevant and pointless. I would have hoped a forum like this might be a useful place for others to share their ideas - rather than focusing on...

God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them...

I've removed the last few posts, which were nothing more than playground posturing. I believe the title of this thread is "God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them..." Would anyone like to get back to that?
