My disagreements with other people about the teachings of Jesus

I would prefer to read about your reasoning about things, Firedragon. Miracles? No. Amazing healings? Maybe. I don't have a faith, Firedragon. Maybe it would be best if you would tell what you think, eh?

My disagreements with other people about the teachings of Jesus

I did say 'most'. Although it's not going to be known, I reckon that Jesus was probably married before the times mentioned in Mark. That's just a guess. But I definitely think that he wanted a full return of the old laws, possibly for full provision for all, which those laws did provide for .

My disagreements with other people about the teachings of Jesus

Magdala........ somebody from Magdala..... I suppose so. But since G-Mark is quite possibly based upon the memoirs of Cephas, and its author possibly a partial witness, my mention of Magdalene seems reasonable to me. Not 'has to be'..... but certainly 'most' Jews. Paul may have been gay, he...

    Was Neanderthal society patriarchal?

Oh..... I hope nobody thinks that comment of mine was a veiled insult or anything! :) Women were most useful for producing offspring. The more offspring so the stronger the community, and with the best change of producing various strengths. Researchers have found Neanderthal dna in humans...

    Was Neanderthal society patriarchal?

Hi Aup..... Very interesting....... Male outsiders would have been treated with extreme caution, imo. But Female outsiders would be valuable. The bible reports that the Israelites gathered virgin female outsiders in to their families, and I expect that Neanderthals might have done so as...

My disagreements with other people about the teachings of Jesus

Very good question. I think that most Jews in their late twenties would have been married, even widowed and remarried. The Christian idea that Jesus might have been asexual is most strange. Magdalene seems to emerge from the mist more and more, maybe.

There is no justice if atheism is true

Yeah......... that's about right. A lot of them, actually. That's your rather twisted opinion, I'm thinking. You should get to know atheists better, maybe. Yeah..... Human Legislation and Justice first....absolutely. If you disagree then please just name a country with a religious...

There is no justice if atheism is true

That's so important, to be able to do that. Generally speaking, many folks just don't respond. I'm plodding through 'Song of the Unborn.' I don't sit down to read it through because I need to think about a single line sometimes. I tend to pick it up, open at random, read a piece... and that...

    Electric Vehicles!

Yes........ EVs on fire are a whole new headache for fire departments. After a motorway crash an EV burst in to flames and the fire dept couldn't control it for ages! After it was brought under control the flames erupted again and the 'hot' car was put on a transporter and raced to a yard...

    Altered consciousness

I love scrubbing floors! My wife works so I need to do this stuff anyway, and during this chore my mind wanders off wherever it will go. And relaxing......... And.... No! I won't come and do yours! :)

There is no justice if atheism is true

True. Some inmates will claim to belong to a religion because it allows them to be involved outside their cells more.....more to do. A slightly less tedius existence.

There is no justice if atheism is true

Fair enough. What folks believe is what they believe, there are so many different churches, creeds, religions in the UK, as you know.

There is no justice if atheism is true

Yeah, but how many 'true' believers are there? As already shown, a high % of prisoners in UK/USA declare that they are Christian, but since many agnostics, ignostics, atheists and non-theists declare Christianity when in prison to reduce everyday boredom then this statistic does not help very...

There is no justice if atheism is true

Aupmanyav said: I am told the percentage in American prisons of theists is much higher than atheists I think that Aup is mentioning that as many or more theists are breaking laws as atheists, this point being interesting in light in the thread title. A survey of prison ministers from 50 states...

There is no justice if atheism is true

But you weren't talking about the intellect of humans or animals..... or that's what you wrote a few posts back. No matter! We both think that the brain in any creature was evolved.

There is no justice if atheism is true

But you told us us that brain evolution isn't anything to do with intellect of humans! That's what you wrote, Amir, above....yours! But that's ok because now you've put it right. ...moving on.....

Huh? You wrote to me:- However, I wasn't talking about the 'intellect' of humans or animals. I thought I made that clear.
