Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

I must 'google' GIGO.... :) You know...... reason can sometimes sort rubbish out.....just sometimes. That's the problem! Bahauallah was the prophet for Bahai. Where his Grandson or Great Grandson or UHJ 'explain' their opinion about Bahai, or about what Bahauallah meant then I lose interest...

You could have been talking about Christianity there...... ;)

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

No Thomas, my focus is towards how Christianity perceives a few of these laws, and how it thinks about Sin. But it could also be focused towards Islam and Baha'i, you know.

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

If I could reply to the above question with regard to any dilemma, surely the only guidance within Baha'i has to go directly to the writings left by Bahauallah? In my opinion the (translated) words of Bahauallah are sometimes a bit distorted by Bahá'ís telling 'what they really mean'.??

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Back to the question of 'real meaning of sin'...... I think that sin was any breaking of any of the laws, and sin would lead to failure of one sort or another, a TEMPORAL rather than spiritual loss. If that is applied to any of the laws then such a loss could be identified as being either a...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Hmmmm....... Those who have personal opinions about Baha'i which do not align with Baha'i are mostly skeptics, Sen....not cynics. Baha'i is not a wholly spiritual movement, and its actions together with Baha'i writings have led me to this place. And so I cannot dismiss the belief that In a...

It was my absolute wish to launch this thread for anybody to read....generally. Can somebody please out it back?

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Ok, Rabbi0. Hi Faithfulservant. Yes, absolutely....... I believe that Jesus stood up for the peasant classes of the Northern Jewish provinces, which would encompass about 80% + of the whole population. That's just what I believe, and so I see Jesus in a similar way to the Brave heart of...

Miracle of the fishes was a natural die-off?

I have no idea how the universe got to expand from a single point. I don't think they went out through the Red Sea, but through the Reed Sea, and amazing deed but not 600,000 people.... ;)

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

His faith.....yes! .......his. You've just got rid of one law, Thomas. That will leave about 600 to go! ....of course. The writings of Paul did not mention a sentence about anything that Jesus said or did did his mission, save from constant repitition about communion, death and resurrection...

Miracle of the fishes was a natural die-off?

Well.....yes! I reckon that most of the miracles in G-Mark can be explained as natural events, but the other gospels....not so much. Imo Jesus did exist, but he was a man with a rebellious mission..

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Having read about world, national and local houses of justice, and reasoning behind their change of title at this time, the criminal code with sentencing, mentions of world police forces (militaries) and civil laws, I cannot have any mindset but scepticism about this. Of course Baha'i can...

Ah..... Now...... Since the Mosaic Laws as shown in my bible are not the only, or the full, list....can you confirm that they are in fact all correct...or not?

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

But Bahai has got to sell that to the World, Sen. A very hard sell. Many Bahair friends see it differently, you know:- Jeff Simmonds, who is in other respects a very sympathetic non-Bahá'í commentator on the Faith, said: While it is often down-played by Bahá'ís, the fact is that the ultimate...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

That's it! You re absolutely correct about that, Tony. What the people have voted for.......... and at this time that is a particularly poignant point for the world to consider. What the people vote for is what they get, but most Western countries trust that their foundations allow for...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Hmmm.....you're thinking of the intermediate situation. The ultimate goal is the establishment of a Baha'i government, judiciary and all. This is a short extract about the Baha'i World order....the Law of Bahauallah.....:- ........word should now be said regarding the theory on which this...

It makes me wonder why Bahauallah bothered to write all that criminal and civil law, then.

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Paul should have read about what God said. He explained quite clearly that his laws were there for the nations present before the Israelites. He also explained that his laws needed to be kept in order that 'the land speweth you not out'. You see? Carry these laws out for success and ignore...

I'll pass this thread over to other members from now. The Abrahamic God offered these same laws to any people who might wish to take them on and follow them.
