    Inspiring poetry

I have not ever read Plato(don't tell anyone :>)), however the last sentence demonstrates that no particular culture owns knowledge and there are many roads to 'getting there'.

    Inspiring poetry

That sounds good and the second part "The Formless is in the midst of all forms. I sing the glory of forms." could be saying that he has realized/seen the formless in everything. Kabir was known always to speak from his own experience, maybe this was a moment of his realization/enlightenment.

    Inspiring poetry

Because I regard the whole of existence as the Guru. I said the disciple is 'a life', meaning any person. What's your view? @Ahanu ETA Actually it was your post in another thread where you quoted "Lover and Friend are one being, and separate beings too, as the polisher melts in the mirror’s...

    Inspiring poetry

I have found this particular poem always takes me to a comfortable place within. Even though I don't fully understand it. For me, 'Guru' here represents existence itself and disciple being a life. I am curious to see how other's understand this poem, in particular the last line. THERE is a...

    Can you relate?

I think the writer was saying that gaining more knowledge(of the world) increases awareness of bad things. While this can be true, the joy of increased knowledge out weighs the bad things. The writer's view is pessimistic, imo.

    Can you relate?

That's from Ecclesiates 1:16 & 17 The writer's meaning is supplied in the verse following 18. For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge, increases pain.

Is the Bible a supernatural book?

No and yes, I know many who have become Christian(including a family member). What are the criteria that should be used to compare?

Just What is the Zohar? New Thoughts

@ScholarlySeeker (Just a quick comment, not really a reply to your questions.) The Zohar was the first esoteric book I read at the age of 15(60 years ago). I really cannot remember the details other than I was left with the strong impression that there is something else to become aware of. I...

    I identify as: (belief)

I think I am similar. I am nontheistic, i.e. non-belief in the existence of a god or gods, specifically of a creator who intervenes in the universe: My very first god-belief, as a 4 year old, was that god is everywhere, now, as an adult, I would say that god is a metaphor for the very...

    New Messiahs

I followed someone who I believed was God-incarnate. The main reason as to why I was attracted was because he claimed that he has "knowledge of God/Truth" and can show it to people. (At that time(1973ish), when I first heard about it, I was living in Israel and had just come out of a war...

    The Promised Messiah(as) Has Come.

Hi @Firedragon , I notice that @Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadi hasn't been around for a couple of weeks. I hope he does return as the discussion you request could be very fruitful. When I first came to the online (1995), I joined the Compuserve Religions forum, and a massive debate began on the very...

How a 4th Dimensional Being Sees Us

@RJM I remember reading the "Tao of Physics" circa 1975 and there the writer explains how for example a sphere(3D) becomes a circle(2D). So, the circle is the shadow of the sphere. He then develops a similar mapping, where the 3D sphere is a shadow of a 4D sphere, the showing what a 4D would...
