If this true, then pilots must frequently put the plane on autopilot, particularly on long flights(which must get boring). Yes, it is scary, particularly about the co-pilot. Anyway, thanks for the tip, if I ever again get to take a flight, I'll make sure to make frequent visits to the cockpit.

    Bored Games

@TheLightWithin I play upwords every evening with my wife(to make sure or brains are still working :)). Its's a bit like scrabble except in 3-D. I find it much more fun than scrabble. The Scrabble-like Upwords gets its name because you can stack letters and entire words on top of each other...

    Anti - Semitic

@everyone Just my observation...feel free to correct me This is truly an interfaith forum. Proof This is the 'Judaism' dir. The OP was a respectful post, posted by a non-Jew asking primarily for Jewish responses. The only response directly to the OP was, from a Jew who is an atheist and...

    Anti - Semitic

@moralorel I was on that Yahoo forum years ago and it was horrendous as you described. Since then , I have tried my best to keep out of politics and wars. Let's face it most of us are not in these places and are only informed via the press. I only hesitantly replied to @talib-al-kalim 's...

    Anti - Semitic

I'll reply although I don't think this thread is suitable for this forum and may be 'disappeared'. Ok, I am a Jew by birth I am also an Israeli citizen as well as a British citizen. I now live in England. I understand that Jews appreciate the existence of a Jewish Indeed. I emigrated there...

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

I'm not sure I can give an adequate reply, but will reply based on my early days of attending orthodox Jewish schools, both primary and grammar. Although the schools were orthodox, by no means were most of the students or staff(which also included non-Jews). There was a large amount of Jewish...

Its going on your permanent record.

RE: The emboldened , I have become conscious of this particularly in my latter years( 60+). I have found memories arising out of the blue from decades ago. Yes, a bit like the Akashic Records as @TheLightWithin has commented, only not so large :>). I've been bitten only a few times(so far)...

    I believe in good!

I think a good book for you to read is "The Great Divorce" by C.S. Lewis. It's all about the people in heaven trying to bring the people in hell into heaven. It's a short read and worth your time. Here's a brief description at The Great Divorce - Wikipedia

    I believe in good!

Who tell's such, good householder? Yes, I am a good householder who has also lived a renunciate's lifestyle in my younger days. None is more superior than the other, even though many like to believe so. I hope you learn to enjoy your food and appreciate all your senses.

    I believe in good!

There is nothing 'low' about food. All our senses should be enjoyed in moderation. No reason to deny or denigrate them.

I cook a red chilli pepper with my meal about once a month(and tonight is the night). As well as an enhancer to the taste, its affect(should this be effect?) is to clear any debris in mind. (Ie. the 'wow' when the heat hits.)

Under the nose of a king

(IMO) it's a lesson to those in 'high' positions in all walks of life, should not regard themselves as above anyone else and should consider their advice. In the above story, the king should , at least, have investigated the information from Alexander, but his ego prevented him.

Did Most Early Christians Believe The Divinity of Christ?

I was fortunate to have just the opposite experience to @muhammad_isa . I used to live near a large house that I often heard singing from on Saturday eves. I really enjoyed the singing, which I found uplifting. So, one of those evenings I decided to go into the house(the door was open) and...

Did Jesus come to save all the people of the world?

Salutations @Faithfulservant , I hope all is well with you. One of the first questions I asked a Rabbi was , "What is the real meaning of the word "Israel"? He explained that the first 3 letters ישראל ( lersy) means 'let rule' and the remaining 2 letters ישראל ( lersy) mean God(el). So, this...
