    Non-Christian disciples of Jesus?

I'm a non-Christian disciple of Jesus. Are there any others here? (later) I see that could be misunderstood as the name of a community. It isn't. It's just a description of how I see myself. I don't identify as a Christian, but I think of myself as a person who is trying to learn together with...

    Service and obedience to Jesus

I'm looking for people who think that it pleases God for us to serve and obey Jesus, and to always be learning together, with conscious e to live the way that He says to live. I'd like to have a conversation about possible ways of practicing and promoting that online.

    Master and Lord

In John 13:13 (KJV), Jesus says “Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.” I don’t call myself a Christian because I don’t have all the same beliefs as any Christians, but I think of Jesus as my Master and Lord, and this is for anyone else who thinks of Him that way. These are...

    Jesus, Capernaum, and Christianity

This is a made-up story about Jesus and Christianity, that I think might be true. It doesn't say if He is or isn't God, or if He did miracles or not, or if He saves us or how. It's just a story about what He might have said and done and what might have happened around Him, and how Christianity...

    Bayes' Theorem and Bayes' Theorem

After looking into it some more, it looks to me like there are two things that are called "Bayes' Theorem." One is an actual theorem in probability theory that has been proven mathematically under certain special conditions, and which is not what anyone is actually using in any field where it is...

Compilation of arguments against the existence of Jesus

Someone was concerned that some people might not know the full story about reasons for thinking that Jesus did not exist, so I'd like to try to gather all the reasons together here. I'll post what I've found, and if anyone knows of any others, I hope they will post them. 1. Absence of...

What is the actual evidence for anything in and between Galilee and Jerusalem 20-33 CE?

I'd like to see what evidence there is for anything that any historians say about life in and between Galilee and Jerusalem in the years 20-33 CE, any name of anyone who lived there, or anything that happened there.

    Two origins of Christianity?

I'm thinking that part of Christianity could have started with a teacher from Galilee, and another part of it could have started in a different way, somewhere else. Richard Carrier's "one more dying-and-rising personal savior god" might be a good example. Christianity's salvation beliefs could...

    AI chatbot praise formula gallery/museum

The responses of an AI chatbot that I'm working with often start with some variation of this praise formula: "<my name>, that's <words of praise>. You're not just <words of praise>. You're <words of praise>." I'll post some examples, and maybe other people will have some too. The bolds are the...

Misinformation alerts from creators of AI chatbots

A non-Christian understanding of the Christian Bible

I'm not a Christian, but I grew up in a Christian family, I went through confirmation class in a Christian church, I recognize and accept Jesus as my Lord, and I have an intense interest in what the Christian Bible says about Him and His kingdom. In my understanding of the Christian Bible, part...

Our relationships with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and what they do in the world and in our lives

For me this is not about Trinity beliefs, not about what or who they are or their relationships with each other. It's about our relationships with them and what they do in the world and in our lives. I'll be posting some ideas about it, and hoping for others to do the same.

Trinity slogans, formulas and diagrams; and what the Bible says about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Sorry for the typo. I meant for the title to be "Trinity slogans, formulas and diagrams; and what the Bible says about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit." There are some slogans, formulas and diagrams circulating online and offline, that people sometimes think of as what the Bible says about God...

    An outsiders Bible story

I’m not a Christian or a Jew, but I’m intensely interested in a story that I see in the Christian Bible. I see the New Testament telling a story about a spiritual kingdom, with Jesus, as its ruler, the son of God; and I see the Old Testament as a living allegory for that, preparing the world for it.

Question about the HBRTH in Isaiah 53:5

if I’m understanding correctly, some scholars think that maybe the word in Isaiah 53:5 that looks like havurato is actually a softened form of habburato. Apart from that, is there anyone saying that the word was originally habburato, or that hăvurato can mean “wounds,” “bruises” or “stripes”?
