Sometimes I get my news rather late. This latest, which is over a week old, is infuriating:

You cannot tell me that the United States is a just nation, and you cannot tell me that the United States practices equality for all of its own people, much less the people outside of its borders.

I was beginning to think that I'd become apathetic and jaded, and a little resigned and relieved since at least Obama was elected, but this story has just kindled the old outrage up into its flame on state.
 
Amazing that it didn't happen in some dark street corner, but instead in front of a crowd.

Yes. Maybe this is what makes this incident seem even more horrifying and heartbreaking. Actually being able to hear the crowd talking, protesting, crying out in disbelief and horror as the scene unfolds to its tragic anti-climax is utterly depressing and horrifying. I guess I can't use that word too much in connection with this horrible, horrific, f'ed up scene.

We are writing, we are standing, we are accusing, and we are reclaiming our humanity from those inhuman powers who abuse, neglect, murder, profit, and debase us and our environments:
