The recent fireball of Virginia
This fireball was either a meteorite or a comet.
The "meteorite" is an inert rock that reaches the ground.
The "comet" is a fire mass ejected from the sun.
Therefore, the difference between the meteorite and the comet is that the meteorite is an inert rock originally, whereas originally the comet is a fire mass (but not dirty ice.)
When the meteorite enters the atmosphere at some altitude, the friction and the oxygen of the air will cause it to become hot, in addition to the existence of some flaming materials like magnesium …etc, may cause it to inflame!
While the comet is originally a fire mass, and it is attracted to the cold and freezing regions of the earth like Siberia [e.g. the Tunguska comet], and northern Canada and Alaska.

Therefore, [fireballs that come to such cold countries are almost some comets or fractions of comets, unless proved otherwise].
And this is the reason for the confusion about the fireballs:
because the astronomers have some wrong idea about the comet that it includes dirty ice, whereas the truth is that the comet is a fire mass hurled out of the sun following some local explosions there.
