    Peace/Shalom/Salaam--

What do you think of the verchip digital angel technology? Not that long ago, we all were asking what the mark of the beast would really be and now it seems to be happening right before our eyes. Lots of media has covered stories of people who are having chip implants. It started with animals and now it seems that some people are volunteraly accepting the chips.
Do you think this is the technology that will be abused and utilized by a tyrant as his mark? Do you think time will come when everyone will be forced to be chipped?
New Testament prophecy is clear that all, free or bonded, poor or rich, will get the mark. If not, then you are left to die (since you are not going to be able to shop for food or anything else).
Muslims: do you think the earth beast described in the Holy Qur'an who will mark everyone is one and the same mentioned in the Holy Bible (New Testament)?
If in fact this is it (and I feel that this is the mark of the beast technology), can we avoid it? Can a believer (Jew, Christian, Sabian or Muslim) remain true believer if he gets chipped? Is it the demand of worship from the Antichrist that will cause one to be destined to hell or the mere acceptance of the verichip?

Like those with posters and placards claiming the end of the world is at hand.

Just look at the signs, see it is all happening now...they have been doing this for 2000 years.

And the mark of the beast... requiring Driver's Licenses...mark of the beast...social security cards...mark of the beast...draft cards...mark of the beast....national id cards....mark of the beast...

And now the chips...no it is not the mark of the beast just the latest in a long line of "See, see!! It IS all happening now!"

Along with a chorus of "Pshaw, they didn't know what they were talking about back then, 'they' were wrong, everyone can see that"

And 20, 200 and 2000 years from now it will all be repeated....

tis the most amazing, longest lasting, 'boy cried wolf' story on earth...

There's apparently a Sumerian tablet saying the same thing, which if true, knocks that back a few thousand years more. :)

5,000 years of written human history, all of which has included some form of the message "the end is nigh!".

Always is in some way - Sumer no longer exists, Rome is no longer an empire, the Jews were expelled from Jerusalem, and so on.

But the world and its people continue...

As the poet sang "the future's uncertain and the end is always near".

Empire's come and then they go.
    Ages pass.
Mountains are born and then dissolve into sand.
"It all slips into the sea....eventually".

Sure such technology can be misused by tyrants.
    Nothing new there.
tyrants have been abusing and killing and terrorizing people for ages.
Seems to be a popular theme with life here on this asylum planet.
    -"The native's are restless"
-"no, the native's are flippin crazy"
Maybe we need some anti-tyrant spray.
    Could be quite popular.

Believe in the myth-conceptions of apocalyptic religions if it makes you feel better, but I predict it will just make one anxious.

Well... The bible has something to say

Luke 12 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

45 But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

I don't think chips are the mark, but with my luck they'll give me the one with three sixes in a row. If they're out of sixes I'll get the nines or 23's, 13's etc. Weird numbers just seem to come looking for me. Boo!

This new technology, like many others can be used for good or bad. The way to prevent its bad use is through education. We must teach our children to understand ethics and morality.

There are religious lessions that could be pointed to as well. But they are insignificant as compared with the ethical and moral lessons.

(I told you I was interested in athesim too, Tao).

yes make no mistake about it , the evil slave is very active especially in these the last days , they went away from the faithful slave ,and they thought the master was delaying and did not hang around to be enlightened.

yes it will not go well with them , because they did not prepare themselves, they only verbally abused the faithful slave .

and those who listen to them will be misled in a big way .

yes the evil slave came from the ranks of the faithful slave
Before 1914, many members of the faithful slave class had high hopes of meeting with the Bridegroom in heaven that year, but their hopes were not fulfilled.

As a result of this and other developments, many were disappointed and a few became embittered. Some of these turned to ‘beating’ their former brothers verbally and consorting with “confirmed drunkards,”
    Isaiah 28:1-3; 32:6.

These former Christians came to be identified as the “evil slave,” and Jesus punished them with “the greatest severity.” How?

He rejected them, and they lost out on their heavenly hope.

They were not, however, immediately destroyed.

They first had to endure a period of weeping and gnashing of teeth in “the darkness outside” the Christian congregation. (Matthew 8:12)

Since those early days, a few other anointed individuals have shown a similar bad spirit, identifying themselves with the “evil slave.” Some of the “other sheep” have imitated their unfaithfulness. (John 10:16)

All such enemies of the Christ end up in the same spiritual “darkness outside.”

its not good to imitate the evil slave , because they are part of the anti christ

Nonetheless, the faithful and discreet slave went through the same tests as “that evil slave.” Rather than becoming embittered, however, they were readjusted.

    (2 Corinthians 13:11)

Their love for Jehovah and their brothers was strengthened. As a result, they have been “a pillar and support of the truth” during these tumultuous “last days.”1 Timothy 3:15; 2 Timothy 3:1.

Same here Dream. In fact, since human beings give meanings to numbers, I think the numbers make themselves more noticeable to us because of it. Weird how all of that works.

Yes, I understand what you all say. However, the verichips are way different than anything else we have seen so far. For instance: driver's liscence--one can buy without a driver's lisence unless it is alcohol; Social security #--not really needed to buy or sell much of anything, etc.
What the verichip really is is an invasion of privacy. With the chip inside you, all the information about you is readily available: bank account info, what you bought or sold, your location 24/7, etc. This is so strikingly different from anything else out there.
The biblical prophecy is clear that the mark will be on the right hand or the forhead. SS#, driver's lisence, other forms of IDs, are not inside your body. But verichip has to be.
I can see how helpful the implant can be in terms of tracking Alzhaimer's patients if they get lost, lost pets, for police work, etc. But, like so many other things in life that humans have abused, I think that it possible that a tyrant will use the verichip technology to control the masses. Perhaps someone like North Korean president who believes himself a god and demands that people pray towards his statues.
Sister Summia, according to the hadith prophecies the Antichrist/Dajjal will have a mark of KFR on his forhead. This tells you that he will already have been marked before he comes on to the political/religious scene of the world affairs and the mark will be visible, something all (literate or illiterate) will be able to recognize/read. What is striking about that hadith prophecy is that it goes hand in hand with both the Holy Bible and the Holy Qur'an.
The Bible is very detailed in its description of the beast and its mark. The Holy Qur'an however mentiones the earth beast only once, and states that no one will be able to escape it and that it will mark people. But God Almighty is calming us in the prophecy by stating that regardless of what kind of the mark the beast gives to the believers, that He (God) will adorn them with His mark. I am not native arabic speaker, but my translation of the interpretation of the Holy Qur'an makes me believe that the mark of God Almighty will come after the mark of the beast because God Almighty first mentiones the scary beast and then calms believers with His promise of His mark. This makes perfect sense because the Holy Bible mentions God marking believers as well.
Many people grew tired of expecting the End of Days and now, when the signs are so many, and majority have passed, they are simply unable to recognize them.
I trully believe that The Major Signs of the End have never been more near than now, or at least sometime in this century. Perhaps I will not be alive to see them (hopefully). But I fear that many will.
What makes me sad is that the believers of the three monotheistic faiths are not able to see that the Last Battle will not be fought amongs them, but with trully forces of satan vs. them. Armaggeddon is not going to be fought between a Jew and Muslim, or a Muslim and Christian, or a Christian and Jew, etc. It is going to be unbelievers (those who hate God with their final and last rebellion, those who have killed people for profit for centuries) vs. believers (those who accept God and those who just want to be left alone to live their lives).

If you accept that, then you know that even your lives are not your own.
Human beings are a part of a process, a drama, if you will, which is unfolding in front of our eyes, yet we only see that which is of importance to ourselves.
    This is vain.
Indeed, a vanity, a clutching after the wind.

Just remember what the book also says:
That which you fear will come upon you.
    also
Perfect love casts out all fear.
Connect with the heaven inside of yourself and it matters not, mark or no mark.
Are we beasts, or something more?
    That remains to be seen.
    And see, we will.

I just find it incredible that in this day and age with the free availability of so much empirical knowledge people still dig in the fevered hallucinogenic madness of holy books for predictions of the future. Eschatology has always been a deliberately fostered device of the church to seed doubt and fear in the flock. It plays directly to our basic insecurities, natural insecurities from living in a universe of uncertainty. If you believe the bible, or any book, is telling you the truth of how humanity will meet its end then you are in that area of your thinking quite insane.

    Salaam to All :)

    First and foremost, as the Bible is distorted... then we cannot know for sure wether the 'mark of the beast' verse is authentic or not; it could be true and if it is it may be reffering to the 'beast' that will be the rulers of the new world order that may force everyone to have a micro chip implanted... [or the Christians may have distorted an original verse that described the 'Beast' that is in Islamic references];

The 'beast' that will mark people in Islamic references is totally different from this 'beast' of Christianity, for the Islamic beast will be a good beast ['beast' meaning as in a creature and not the 'beastly [evil]' type of creature ;]; it is called the 'beast' as it will be a creature unseen before and comprising of parts of several other animals I think...

This beast will emerge from the safa Hill near the end of time, after the sun rising from the West, and begin conversing with people. This animal will travel the entire earth very swiftly. It will have the staff of Mûsâ ‘alayhis salâm [Moses pbuh] with which it will draw an illuminated line across the foreheads of the believers. The result of this will be that the believers' faces will become illuminated. As for the non-believers, it will stamp them on their noses or necks with the ring of Sulaymân ‘alayhis salâm whereby their faces will become dark. Once this animal completes this task, it will disappear.

    http://www.jamiaashrafia.org/qiyamah4.php

This 'beast' is different from the anti-Christ, who will be a man that will be blind in one eye; read about this anti Christ in the above link.

    Hope that helps

    Peace :)

Tao, do you have any favorite atheists from the early periods for example: Socrates, Diagoras, Democritus, Epicurus, or others ?

The more I read about atheism, I think it is quite compatible with other religions and brings in important new perspectives.

In any religion there are atheists in the mix, and you cannot tell who is or isn't. Where is their mark? If there were such a thing it would be an amazing miracle.

I do not 'do' heroes. I do however have a profound respect for many early thinkers who were not stifled by convention or coercion and gave to humanity the tools that would lead to greater understanding of how things really work.

Other religions? Atheism is not a religion, it is a lack of one.

One of the philosophers that I would like to learn more about is Spinoza. So even though you do not have heros, perhaps you might be interested in discussing Spinoza. He was a very humble man:

He was very rebellious, a trait that many of us admire :)

He got into trouble with all the religious folk !!

I think Atheism is much than that, isn't it ? It seems to me that science describes things which we know and understand very well. Religion then fills in an area outside of these boundaries of knowledge, it deals with things that we really do not know or understand.

Atheism seems very consistent to me with a scientific understanding of reality.

As science pushes forward our boundaries of knowledge, religion always needs to re-adjust its position. In this sense, as science develops further, the Atheist position strengthens as well.

Do you agree with this analysis ?
