At one time I really got angry over all the spam mail cluttering my inbox. Various filters and folders dramatically cut down on it for a while, but those crafty spammers quickly found their way around all of that. Nowadays, I've just learned to live with it. I actually find some of it quite amusing.

Take today for instance. 76 unsolicited offers, notifications and out and out malicious come-ons.

Oh, it seems I've won the International Lottery, what ever that is, even though I've never entered such. I would be excited, but it's the 3rd time this month and we're barely 2 weeks into it.

Here's some wonderful offers on siding and windows, but I think I'll hold off on those until I check out the hot seniors dating scene in my area. Of course, I could by-pass that and take Adriana's offer to do unspeakable things to my person, but alas it's lunch time and I think I'd really rather have a sandwich.

So, what's in your Spam folder?

What mail system are you using? I just use Yahoo for email and their spam filter is very efficient. Hardly anything ever makes it into my inbox.

As for my Spam folder and what's in it? Haven't a clue! Maybe once a month I'll drop in that folder and do a quick look - never see anything I need to see, so trash it all.

Yahoo's spam filter does filter out 99% of my spam D A. I still screen it though, because it also tosses other automated messages in there. Like the ones from my health insurance company and receipts from online purchases and payments.

You know you can switch those spam filter bloopers to non-spam, right?

Yep! Done that several times. Works once or twice than right back in the spam folder. Easier just to browse the contents before hitting the delete button than to risk loosing something important.

I've had to go through between 200 and 300 in my Yahoo mail, but I'd rather go through that than several viruses (virii?) that I used to get from my campus account (all which I let the IT people know about after cleaning the computer at home [a$$tards cut my internet access post-removal/post-consumer alert.:mad:].)

My oldest email accounts have very busy spam filters, but newer accounts don't seem to have any spam. I think web sites have gotten more responsible, and new email addresses are less prone to spam.

I also feel it is related to usage. In my case, the more I use an email address, the more spam accumulates. For instance, I have both old and newer accounts I never send emails from and they get 1-2 spam messages a month. Whereas the account I'm emailing from daily gets 40-50 spam emails every day.

That's very true. My personal box accumulates very little by way of spam. My business account on the other hand is nothing but most of the time.

The box we used for the video biz got some colorful spam. Unbelievable the things movie producers are offered!

Getting back to the topic of the thread. Have you looked at the spam accumulating at our old business email? Half of it's in Arabic!

    I did notice that.
Ha, ha, ha... I was able to translate part of one of the messages. Looks like just the opposite. Some organization was trying to recruit us!

Spam is in Arabic now? No wonder there is so much anger with the West!
