He lost this round with the ban of Muslim immigrants. This is just one of the videos about the ACLU's temporary win against the 45th president of the United States:

The permanent recinding is up before a federal judge late February, with the ACLU representing any and all victims of Drumpf's religious profiling. Unfortunately, one victim will miss a rather famous event due to the fact that he's from Iran: he's up for a second Oscar for best foreign language film for The Salesman.

Just more information about what's going on in case you're interested.

Col.Thomas Moe revised a famous quote by Martin Niemöller ...

“You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims should register with their government, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says he’s going to round up all the Hispanic immigrants, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it’s okay to rough up black protesters, because you’re not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump wants to suppress journalists, because you’re not one. But think about this: If he keeps going, and he actually becomes president, he might just get around to you. And you better hope there’s someone left to help you."

Efffin' A, Lux! The fools never ever get it. And not that history hasn't shown them time and time again. Look at the republican party itself. They were going after everybody and thought they were being so clever. Until Trump came along and took their lunch. Sadly, too few people ever learn.

On the off chance it may matter to someone, without taking sides or offering an opinion, there has not been a blanket ban placed on Muslims entering the United States. By executive order, to allow time for a revamped vetting system, a temporary, 90 day travel ban has been placed on citizens of the 7 countries first identified by the previous administration as being countries of concern, in need of further vetting. There are however, waiver previsions in place for certain types of visas and current green card holders. Unfortunately, due to the hastiness of the plans implementation, this was not immediately apparent, resulting in hundreds of individuals being mistakenly detained, deported and turned back from US bound flights. This is only a temporary measure and green card holders from these countries are not prevented from entering the United States. Nor are citizens from the more than 40 other predominantly Muslim nations affected.

“As far as green card holders moving forward, it doesn't affect them,” Priebus said on the NBC program “Meet the Press.”

Priebus added that these green card holders would be subjected to “more questioning” by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents when they try to re-enter the United States “until a better program is put in place over the next several months.”

Just heard that some of the victims of Drumpf's "ban" include a Fulbright scholar, a cancer researcher with an invitation to work at Johns Hopkins University, another researcher on cardiac repercussions of modern medications, several staff members of both Apple and Google, and two former interpreters for the US military in Iraq (one was an interpreter for a fooking decade, and his entire family is in danger!)

Drumpf fired Sally Yates, a deputy attorney general, because she refused to uphold his travel restrictions aimed at Muslims. She even told her underlings to basically turn a blind eye on any prosecutions based on his executive order.

Doesn't he understand that, when a federal judge says that something is unconstitutional, s/he's labeling it BS and that's pretty much the end of it? There's only one way to overturn the decision and that's to argue your position to a higher court, up to and including the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court says that it's BS, that's it.

I'll be over there with the :kitty:s, facepalmheaddeskwallbuildinging (if there's such a word...)

Balance of power... There is a reason we have three branches... If he ignores it he will have opened Pandora's box.

It makes me wonder who will end up on the Supreme Court since President Obama wasn't allowed to appoint someone.

That can make all the difference.

Conservatives wanted someone in charge who knew nothing about how the country is run. They picked Trump because not only does he not know, he doesn't care to know. And now we are all reaping what they sowed. One week in and we are already at the point of a Constitutional crisis because Trump thinks he doesn't have to obey a court's ruling, then firing the Deputy Attorney General for upholding the law.

The ban is on foreign immigrants who are not U.S. cirizens from what I understand.

I agree with the ban on the principle that there needs to be something done to stop infiltration of people who's intent is to do grevious harm to others. If not a ban, then how should the Goverment and president go about addressing the problem associated with the ongoing infiltration that leads to acts of terrorism , introduction of disease, and crime?

If this was an actual problem then you might have a point. Unfortunately all this is propaganda crap the Trump machine is spewing. Like all illegal Mexicans are rapists, drug dealers and murderers. It's a lie.

Most of the terrorism in the last few years have been from people already living in this country, and most are US citizens. Trump's ban is also ludicrous because of the countries he has picked to ban. Not included Saudia Arabia. The majority of the 9/11 terrorist were from Saudia Arabia. But that is not one of the banned countries.

I don't even know what you are talking about 'introduction of disease'. Huh?

And again, look at the government crime statistics. Muslims barely register on the percentage of people doing crimes in this country.

In other words, you are supporting propaganda based on ignorance.

Correct and it only affects citizens of the 7 countries identified by the previous administration as needing further vetting. It is merely a temporary measure to allow time for that to be done.

Lol....the past administration did the further vetting process, increased the delay from application to admittance for.those countries to 2 years...to insure plenty of time for review.

Odds of Dying by Terrorist Attack: 20,000,000 to 1
Odds of Dying by Lightning: 126,158 to 1
Odds of Dying by Motor Vehicle Incident: 108 to 1

Why are you so afraid of terrorism? The chances of you becoming a victim of a terrorist act is less than the chances of being hit by lightning. Don’t get played by fear-mongers.

Car accidents kill over 30,000 people every year in America only, which averages over 82/day ... Yet most of us drive every day without much fear, and many would speed, tailgate, fumble with their phones ... go figure.

As someone who was hit by a car last year, I really appreciate the statistics presented. /sarcasm
