How could there be a Trojan horse by clicking on the thread and the. The report button?
No, in the "message". Sometimes links end up being "backdoors" for Trojan horses and other viruses/worms (or they take one to sites that could get the user in trouble with the PtBs.)
Have there been issues this week with this type of thing? There is a link checker built into the site that is supposed to moderate anything that leads to a virus/trojan/malware type site. I get those every now and then, so I know the checker works, but I can't guarantee it is 100% effective.
Not this week, but when the last spammer posted all of the BS/MS/PhD, there was at least two links that could've gotten everyone in trouble with "The Man" iykwim (I won't dredge up the bitter memories any further...)
Yes, I’ve put a few extra blocks in place to try and keep those types of links from showing up. Definitely don’t need to go back into those old memories any farther.
IN Hawaii they love spam... Because that is all we fed them when we stole their islands
It's "spammers' season"!
Not that I've seen any tmk, but summer usually brings them out in my experience.
Funny you should say that. Caught 6 this morning.
You know the procedures (tabs open to :kitty: sites, then delve into the sh!tstorm with virtual waders/Hazmat suit on...)
School's out, aka "Spammers Season".
Have the :kitty: sites ready jic.
It has been a rather slow day even. Only 52 attempts caught in the filters.
For those of you who noticed that I deleted all of MikeDwight's posts, I know you don't like that because it throws off the threads. I apologize for that disruption, but he had so many flagged posts caught in moderation I took the less time consuming route of removing everything as spam, rather than go through each thread individually to delete it.
The spammer count has been through the roof lately. If you see something or are suspicious, please PM me. Some of you already have and I appreciate your vigilance and commitment to the forum. Thank you.
Is it time for :kitty:s?
Right now, Tovarish is asleep on one of "our" dinette chairs (I would take a photo of her, but :kitty:s have both a sixth and a seventh sense about being photographed imho...) Let's just say that she's in a purrfect diving tuck except her chin's pointing up at the ceiling.
