I'm not sure where to post this: https://www.yahoo.com/news/orthodox-jewish-rabbi-disguised-himself-191327858.html
Basically the article is about how an Orthodox Jewish man accommodated a couple of his foster children during the coronavirus pandemic by "transforming" into Santa Claus (the children are Christian.) The kids couldn't visit any of the mall Santas this year (the gentleman usually brings them [he's Jewish, not them!])
Here's the same/similar article (in case the other link is taken down: https://www.insider.com/santa-claus-rabbi-foster-kids-2020-12

The homeless man rescued (almost) all of the companion animals in the shelter along with his own dog, risking his own life as well.
Just found out that a particular neighbor passed away Tuesday (it was posted in the main corridor of the complex.) He was the one who presented all of the movies (most of them I didn't go to due to disinterest) plus he would chat with one other neighbor about stuff that neither had any knowledge of (but that's another topic for some other day.)
I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, just posting the news.
A brother got Coronavirus. He is back home, still on Oxygen, walks with a crutch, and I am told that the hospital costs were very high even for him.
Wishing him a good recovery.
It turns out that the coronavirus tests used with Congress have been showing an unnecessarily high amount of false negatives according to the FDA: https://news.yahoo.com/congress-using-covid-test-fda-172839193.html
Nasha, a giraffe who lives in the Nashville zoo, accidentally stepped on and killed her newborn calf (I just found out on one of my other feeds.)
Here's the article (I'm leaving a link so that the choice to read it is voluntary): https://www.yahoo.com/gma/newborn-giraffe-dies-mother-accidentally-105530821.html

Just found out that the Indian plant that was making coronavirus vaccines suffered a deadly fire. Here are the details: https://news.yahoo.com/deadly-fire-indian-super-plant-153622577.html
Everything safe there. No damage to the building where they were making the vaccine. It was a building which was being constructed. However the loss to company is large, something like 137 million USD. I think the insurance company will pay.
But really, it seems to be a small building. How can be the loss so large? Not my problem. It will be between the company and the insurer.
But some other vaccines (tuberculosis, rotavirus) were destroyed, which is unfortunate.
Beautiful, but keeping pets is not my idea. The Brahmin in me objects to it because of uncleanliless and possibility of transfer of diseases. Furthermore, we take away their freedom.

The dog literally saved her "client's" life!
A family donated a bundle of letters to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC that has some historical significance. The letters were postmarked from Nazi Germany, written by Louise Frank. Here's the article: https://www.yahoo.com/news/hidden-letters-reveal-desperation-now-120000051.html

John Oliver's show's returning this coming Sunday iirc. Just a "heads up" for anyone interested.
A truism that I don't know where to post:
