Doing anything? I was.working on languages to rebuild the neuronet and played boardgames and rubics cube...my brain seems to be functioning at near old normal I still have range of motion issues and tire easily so I've added to my PT turning over the garden and juggling. Bending over picking drops is beneficial and I am trying to learn back crosses and do movements my arms don't want to do...and I never could do..trying to teach this old dog new tricks. I realize some of you are working still or harder than ever. But what new things a re folks trying during this debacle?
I'm helping an ESL student with her American English (her primary language is a dialect of Chinese) while learning some of her regions "receipts". I'm also attempting to recreate a "traditional" atl-atl without the spears* (for archery class) plus I live with/am firmly under the paws of three :kitty:s. I'm watching several anime series, too (using subtitles, as usual.) I'm trying out several new (to me) ones online. Moreover, I am posting on another forum (one of my posts has garnered almost 1,800 "upvotes", which is astounding imho.) * - Weapons are prohibited in my apartment complex/public buildings as well as on public transportation. I've got back to my writing ... ... and I'm doing 5 minutes on the bike every hour, as well as a two mile brisk walk at lunchtime.
Walk 5 miles a day. That was easy when I was at the school and in front of class moving around. Much harder now when I’m recording myself sitting down and on my computer.
In my neck of the woods, temperatures remain low with a very gradual trend upward. The forecast today is 50 degrees, so the weather is not exactly summer yet.
We've had some warm.days, but back to low 60s n high 50s, got potatoes, onions and salad stuff in the ground...
I'm not allowed to have any spears in my apartment complex. It's a public housing building plus too many of my neighbors would tempt me to use said spears on them! Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine
I didn't go out much before all the drama due to other health issues and the wife's current employ is deemed an essential service, so pretty much business as usual on our end. Freezer full, TP in good supply!
I don't get it, if you aren't creating the tip, or the spear? You are making the thing that assists in the throwing of the atl-atl? A buddy in Nevada used to make atl-atls, the tips look like what we conventionally think for arrowheads....he was doing Paiute style.and when he made.arrows the tips were either small.as the shaft (not unlike archery) or sleeved, so the shaft could be reused. Tips of each were the easiest to make,.with fletching and nocking not time.consuming either....the hardest was making straight consistent, strong arrows, atl-atl shafts not as demanding.
