    Thanks for the welcome.

I've been a yogini and self-realized since 2016, thanks to Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati's weekly satsangs online...I've been vegan since 1983 (vegetarian in 1982). I've traveled the world but really like staying in my area of Oregon, USA best. I have 3 roommates: one person and two Chihuahuas.

The Bhagavad Gita is my favorite read, although I love reading many sacred writings. I consider myself a Yogi and Hindu, but I respect other faiths and I used to be a Christian and Wiccan years ago. I still read the Bible.

I love kirtan, and reading many books about saints, monks, swamis, gurus, siddhas, and others for inspiration.

    Hi and welcome!

Online satsangs. Now that is an interesting idea!

Us Irish have a similar form of gathering called siamsa. (Say Shahmsah) But the only spiritual aspect of that is drinking porter or maybe poteen which leads to singing and dancing and eventually falling down. :D Satsang sounds like a more genuinely spiritual affair.

It's common in the yoga community, usually led by gurus or swamis.

I'd love to see a thread about your community. Is there a tradition of lineage holders?

I don't belong to a specific community. I listen to different yoga and Hindu lineages, but I started out as a Saivite (Shiva); that's the lineage I followed during a year long Hindu course online.

In case you have not seen it yet, there is a Forum for Hinduism.
    https://www.interfaith.org/community/forums/hinduism/

But of course you can post in any Forum as long as you stay in the Forum subject. No, I am not a mod, just shooting my mouth off as usual. Or is that shooting my fingers - no let's not go there. :)

I saw Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati mentioned as a proponent of interfaith dialogue. Nice!

I don't have an official guru, but I consider her my (online) guru. I became most enlightened 4 years ago while listening to one of her satsangs.
