The only person that can harm the soul is the self, in mental health they call this dis-association, Shamans and psychologists like Carl Jung called it soul loss, as a Soul Retrieval therapist I am aware that the soul can fragment due to emotional trauma. Which is why self mastery over emotions and human self is so important, the sentient soul is fragile and very sensitive energetically. Mental health patients call the black pit of darkness hell and interesting that the NIV talks about the black pit.
People punish and destroy themselves with fear, self hate, self-harm, blame and self-condemnation and it is this that Jesus came to replace with love IME. Feelings of failure and inferiority is the thorn in the side of humanity.
Jesus empowered us to be fearless, stand up, be counted and too never be afraid ~ for we walk in his name.
Fear is the opposite to love and Jesus taught us Love, mercy and compassion for self and others.
being love
