Modern Luciferianism often seeks to redeem the figure of Lucifer, recasting him as the archetype of freedom, intellect, and divine rebellion. Yet this luminous Adversary, as popularly imagined, never existed in either scripture or the ancient mythic canon. In truth, contemporary Luciferians are engaged in an act of mythopoeia, forging a new current of gnosis from the ruins of a theological error. To restore Lucifer to his primal aspect as the Morning Star is to strip away the dogmatic accretions of centuries and confront the paradox that the liberating icon of the Left-Hand Path is itself born of a Christian misreading rather than the genuine astral intelligence it seeks to invoke.
