The Vedantic Logos for the Syntrophic Dao-Way
- the ultimate principle for a path to co-equal betterment:

Re-cognize and Be Ourselfs: effectors, effecting effects - effectively
— Be Feasant of self, to All
— Sow παρα δε ισος (para de isos) to Reap Paradise

1. Re-cognize ourselfs: effectors, who effect (cast) effects
2. Be ourselfs: be effectively effecting effective effects
Caveats: nothing to extreme, surety -fixity- leads to ruin
— the Delphi Maxims re-mastered

Definitions:
'effectors'= emergent elements (force, process, agents) of the universe
'effecting' = casting - doing what every one - individually & collectively - can
'effects' = diverse - across time & dimension - and yet, co-equal = παρα δε ισος
'effectively' =
(1) materially - has effect be it together or in contra
(2) serviceably - of service / of use = χρηστός (chrestos/christos), fit for purpose,
(3) reflectively - for those equipped by their nature to do so, do PDCA

Let those :
- with ears of theirs to hear - let them hear
- with eyes of theirs to see - let them see
- with mind of theirs to apprehend νοέω - let them re-cognize μετανοέω

The Vedantic Logos, for Syntrophic Dao, to Paradise
--the ultimate principle, for a path, to co-equal betterment of all:

Mankind,

1. Re-cognize ourselfs:
we are the conceptual beings - the ones who cast concepts
we are the conceptual effectors - we effect (cast) effects through concepts

2. Be ourselfs:
be effectively effecting effective effects
be co-re-conceptualizing
Caveats: nothing to extreme, surety -fixity- leads to ruin
— the Delphi Maxims re-mastered

Be feasant of self, to All
Be benefeasant to All
— Sow diversity and co-equality -- παρα δε ισος (para de isos):
to Reap virtuous cycles of betterment for all -- Paradise

Definitions:
'effectors': emergent elements (force, process, agents) of the universe
'effecting': casting - doing what every one -individually & collectively- can
'effects': engaging as neighbors 'beside, different yet co-equal'
sustaining diversity and co-equality thus παρα δε ισος (para de isos)
'effectively':
(1) materially - has effect, be it pro/contra i.e. for/against any concept
(2) serviceably - of benefeasance, fit for purpose, thus χρηστός (christos)
(3) reflectively - with Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycles

Let those :
- with ears of theirs to hear - let them hear
- with eyes of theirs to see - let them see
- with mind of theirs to apprehend νοέω - let them re-cognize μετανοέω

This might be related to philosophical discussions about parallels between the logos and the dao. I'll be doing some reading about that. "Syntrophic" usually means two or more different species of microbes functioning together as one. The idea here might be to benefit from thinking of logos-learning and dao-learning as complementary.

Eddie, This jives with a concept I borrowed from New Age thought and find useful for my own spiritual development: That an individual spirit accepts an individual physical existence/life as an assignment to bring the physical dimension more in line with God.
I recently wrote a book called Getting to Know One’s Connected Self. I had noticed dream imagery that is highly suggestive of my spirit reentering my body towards the end of a dream. I also had one astral projection experience in a semi conscious state (waking up from a nap at a place where I regularly meditated). So it seems to me that we probably astrally project during dreaming activity. I saw signs of both reluctance (on the spirit’s part) and fear and resistance (on the part of my regular physical self) in regards to reentering the body, presumably to kind of clock in for another day’s work on earth. The “work” is what I call the Grand Reclamation Project in which the lost projection into physical reality is gradually reclaimed to a greater spiritual reality, and ultimately to Mind Itself that transcends the subtle energy forms associated with spirit and “spiritual.”
The spiritual realm being conceptualized as a bridge between the physical dimension and a deeper dimension akin to mind (that I call Mind Itself).
My theology seems to best fit the moniker of “Positive Gnosticism.”
As a practicing Christian, I see Christ as an example of a human being highly aligned with, and attuned to, his spirit and the bridge connecting us to “God” or “Mind Itself.”

If you are interested in investigating a possible match between my theological concepts (and experiences) and the Vendatic stuff you posted here, I’d be glad to share a link to a YouTube version of my audio book. Let me know if you are interested.

EddieC, Here is a link to the YouTube playlist containing the chapters of my book, Getting to Know One’s Connected Self. In a comment earlier, I suggested a possible similarity between my adopted (still evolving) theology and what you shared above. Feel free to check out the book or not to.

Hello Darrel,

'Astral projection' would sound to me to be more for 'otherworldly-ism' - that is not my posts are about.

Your blogpost'd 'Ten Commandments of Collective Living' on the other hand is much better aligned.

Hi Eddie,
I’d like to see that blogpost. It must have been from someone else. The only “Ten Commandments” spinoff I’ve done is the Ten Commandments of running that I had in a book called Christian Running. In a book called Allsville Emerging I did write about a fictional model community that focuses on spiritual development. I matched 5 characteristics of an optimal community with 5 spiritual factors, but no 10 “Commandments”.
Regarding the issue of otherworldliness, the concept of the virtue of making the world a better place is something an “effector” conceives and creates with whether the concept’s origin is attributed to rational thought or intuitive knowing, Gnosis.
At various junctures here at the forums I have even suggested that the otherworldly perceptions, including “God,” could well be projections of the human mind. That perspective psychologizes spirituality, sees spirituality as part of a higher end of psychological development.
But at some point I decided that if the source of the projection is from a really deep sort of sensing or consciousness, it is more or less of an other dimension, whether literally or figuratively.
My main interest is actually on the positive results of beliefs. Even In Getting to Know One’s Connected Self, I admit that the notion of having an individual spirit (whether it occasionally leaves and reenters the body or not) may well be a useful personification of a person’s spiritual growth potential. The belief in a spirit assigned to a life may be a meaningful myth that helps a person find a greater purpose in life. The spiritual or “connective” aspect of me is focused on making the world a better place because it helps me feel and be more whole. Is “God” pleased when I accept the “assignment” to reclaim “Godliness” in a fallen physical realm? Or am I simply fulfilling my deepest human potential that I positively project onto “God?” Either way (otherworldly or projected), I live a more fulfilling life when I am governed by concepts of goodness. The fruit is more important than the exact identification of the tree. If an otherworldly belief bears good fruit, helps me serve humanity and be more fully human myself in the process, then I’ll continue to hold that belief. Perhaps my experiences suggestive of having an individual spirit is simply a way to pull myself towards greater connectiveness, oneness, harmony, spirituality, etc.
In church yesterday, I stayed in a trance (probably alpha brain waves) for the duration of the sermon. In that altered state, it seemed like I handed over the “reins” to my spirit, allowed it to sense and observe instead of my regular “self” (or normal state of consciousness). The altered state did help me feel more peaceful, “Grace-assisted” for most of the rest of that day. Was it my spirit? Or just Darrell inducing a different brain wave and state of consciousness? Either way, the fruit was good.
Thanks for sharing the concepts of this discussion thread,
Love,
Darrell

Since my beliefs utilize the concept of depth layers of overall reality, and the distinction of gross, subtle, and causal body makes sense to me and conforms to my “spiritual” experiences (subtle energy experiences), I asked Open A.I. if it came from the Vedic literature. Here is the result of my search:

Yes, the roots of these concepts trace back to the Vedic literature, specifically the Upanishads (the philosophical concluding portions of the Vedas), though the fully systematized "three bodies doctrine" (sarira trayam) found its mature expression later in Vedanta and Yoga philosophy. [1, 2]

Roots in the Upanishads and Vedas
  • Subtle Body (Sūkṣma Śarīra): Early concepts of the migrating subtle or psychical self appear in principal Upanishads like the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad and the Katha Upanishad. [1]

  • Five Sheaths (Koshas): The Taittiriya Upanishad lays out the theory of the five concentric and interpenetrating sheaths (from the physical food sheath up to the bliss sheath), which later directly map onto the gross, subtle, and causal framework. [1, 2]
Systematic Development in Vedanta
  • While the early Vedas focus heavily on ritual hymns (Samhitas), the philosophical elaboration of the gross (sthula), subtle (sukshma), and causal (karana) bodies was formalized by later classical commentators and texts like Tattva Bodha and Vedantasara to explain the condition of the individual soul (jiva). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Overview of the Three Levels
  • Gross Body (Sthūla Śarīra): The physical, material frame built from food (annamaya kosha) used to interact with the waking world. [1, 2]

  • Subtle Body (Sūkṣma Śarīra): The inner psychical framework comprising the mind, intellect, vital breath, and sensory capacities that transmigrates upon death. [1, 2]

  • Causal Body (Kāraṇa Śarīra): The seed-state or root ignorance (avidya) and repository of past karma that underlies both the subtle and gross forms, experienced actively during deep sleep. [1, 2]
Would you like to explore how these three bodies map directly to the five koshas (sheaths) or their relation to states of consciousness (waking, dream, deep sleep)?

Another Open A.I. question and answer:

is astral projection a function of subtle body?

In esoteric and metaphysical frameworks, astral projection is fundamentally described as a function of the subtle body. Specifically, consciousness is understood to separate from the physical form and travel through the astral plane by means of a non-physical vehicle known as the astral body or subtle body. [1, 2]

The Role of the Subtle Body
  • Vehicle of Consciousness: The astral body acts as the intermediate vessel that allows awareness and consciousness to function independently of the physical brain and body. [1, 2]

  • Connection to Experience: Metaphysical teachings view the subtle or astral body as the repository for desires, emotions, and psychic functioning, making it the specific medium utilized during out-of-body travels. [1, 2]

  • Separation Mechanism: During the projection process, the physical body remains stationary or asleep while the subtle body navigates dimensions beyond tangible reality. [1]

Scientific and Critical Context

  • Pseudoscience Classification: Mainstream science finds no empirical or objective evidence that a conscious entity or subtle body can detach from physical neural activity to observe the real world. [1]

  • Alternative Explanations: Psychological and neurological perspectives categorize these occurrences as altered states of consciousness, vivid dreams, or hypnagogic/hypnopompic phenomena rather than the literal movement of a distinct anatomical subtle body. [1, 2]

I have been calling the spiritual something-or-other that appears to transmigrate during dreams one’s “spirit.” But in line with my belief that something akin to Pure Mind (“Mind Itself”) is deeper and truer yet, at the very base of our being, the Vedantic philosophy apparently conceptualizes the “spirit” to be Causal Body. This is also in line with beliefs shared by Thomas and others (probably including you?) here at the forum (mostly at the Beliefs and Spirituality branch of the forum) in “Logos” as the underlying or truest aspect of overall reality. Plato pitched in to this line of thought that apparently began before him in the Vedic tradition.
I do agree that formless order, something like Pure Mind. lies at the deepest level of overall reality. This is a metaphysical belief, but I do also think it parallels an epistemological belief akin to Ken Wilber’s upper left quadrant. The human mind can at least sense itself beyond its individual thoughts. True mind is not the thoughts.

It seems to me...i could be wrong ...but i am sure others will tell me...

That this thread is along the vein of what I was trying to "what if" in my "purpose of religion" thread that went completely awry.

Rather than go to our corners arguing the nature of existence, the unkown and unseen...work toward coexistence...cooperation... I like it.

I agree, and have discussed elsewhere at the forum that there seems to be almost an equivalence between God and Good. We don’t pray to a Bad God. We pray, call on, a Good God. The potential for “good” could be thought of as the “God” we pray to. Consistent with Depok Chopra’s “Pure Potential” god. Of course it would be “positive” Potential. Yet we must keep our minds open to what good and positive really is. Positive Pure Potential must help reveal that which is truly consistently good.
The notion of God as being a projection of our inner potential for “good” has been interpreted by some here as too human centric and therefore too at risk of being egocentric. But to my way of thinking, deep, really deep, is as other dimensional and beyond as a God thought to be strictly beyond human being. Deep equals wide and high. True Self equals Divine Other.
I totally agree that or main focus needs to be on the fruit. Are we growing spiritually, getting better at being “good” and “godly?”
