Q, re-reading this thread I just discovered that you referred to the "log from the eye" verse as well. Just wanted you to know I was not referring to your post in any way.

All of your Christian brotherly and sisterly love continues to fascinate me here. I was afraid to come back in here after my post on Revelations are your ready (great idea putting that one up Quahom1) because I thought there would be some comments that were going to damage my soul telling me how wrong I am. Revelations tells me that nation, political powers, government and organized religion have somewhat led us astray over the years from Godly worship and the very thing we trust, nation, government and polital powers and will in my opinion lead to the war in Revelations. It all makes so much sense to me now that at some point we are going to hear in the news that the US and the UN are going to take quick action bla, bla, bla,...(my dream last night in Bush's voice) the twin headed beast...All we can do as individuals is live our lives with Godly devotion and hopefully we end up on Gods side in the war if it is during our life. Sometimes its best to turn off Revelations and listen to the King Solomon stuff, he's great, especially when you start talking like him to work people :) ect.. Got to get back to work today, been a bit lazy lately doing this more interesting stuff here. blessings, tommy

Kindest Regards, all!

I can't help but get a tickle out of this thread, :D !

Tommy, your search is commendable. Keep looking, you will find if you keep the "right" attitude and spirit.

A little sidebar that might or might not help, some teach that the "new wine" was grape juice, that is, non-alcoholic. I don't know that I agree, but it is something to consider. I do agree that alcohol in moderation is good for the body and soul. Unless one is a recovering alcoholic.

But I have to laugh at the driving drunk on a donkey thought! :D
Juan, Grape juice does not cause old intestines (wine skins) to explode. New fermented wine will cause old wine skins to rupture...(trust me on this)...:D

Wine making 101 (Henley style). Grandpa taught me a bible lesson with real life tools and material. The laugh was his, but the lesson was mine.

the battle is from powers and principalities of the air...not from people. God puts people in power, and God takes people from power. The battle is not earthly, nor is it intermittent...it continues on day and night. Instead of condemning a man, consider praying for the fact that God allowed a man to be in authority. Oohh that is a hard prayer indeed. Must climb out of the box to consider such...;)

Whoops, another break at work, hope the Boss doesn't bust me. In my prior money world I voted for him. Yes I did, thought the stock market was going to go up and I would have more money? I am not going to tackle this one, maybe someone else want to. Two songs are playing in my head, one Joe Walsh in E-minor sung slow, "Why how slow we learn...", another Don Henley sung in the chord of C, "I think its about foregiveness, even if you don't love me anymore", the problems nations have failed with. I am only going to give the Scriptures where I can find Nation coming up in the Bible 23 times and others can comment if they want on the issue of God and how it relates to nations.Ex. 19:6,2:Sa 7:23, Ps 9:17, Ps 33:12, Isa 2:2, Isa 26:2 Isa 66:8, Hag 2:7, Mt 12:21, 24:7, 24:14, 25:32, Lu 21:24, 21:35, 23:2, Ac 15:14, Eph 4:17, IPe 2:12 Re 11:18 Ge 22:18, ac 10:35, Ro 3:29 and Rev 7.9.

You are richer than the eyes of Lazurus. (And he saw God). Everything else is fodder. But, don't jeapordize your job for this place. We are here when you come home (after you tend to wife and kids...) That too is Biblical.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm getting to like you more and more everyday, quahom1. All scripture is inspired by God and the blessings belong to him for loving us enough to give us the grand Bible. I work in the field often and I am heading to an afternoon Bible Study with my wife to take Jehovahs and Jesus' blessings sand back into my home tonight since I have feeling somewhat low in ifaith lately. After being the #2 sales rep I got sent to St. Thomas for an honors conference last my month. Then, the company took half my sales territory and I am close to the bottom, should this not be something one should feel bad about? More time to study the Bible:p Have you noticed the current trend of those seeking God are losing out in the material gains, king of funny. Bless ya Big guy!

The stack of toys were piling up. Now the stack of Bibles with different translations are piling up. Which is better for the family. However, I like todays technology being able to send this from the car. Walking into the Kingdom Hall. See ya!

Great Bible Study, the theme was how Satan owns the material things and God wants the spiritual things. Funny how that happened? Here is another song you can sing in the G chord by Lennon McCartney, "tell me that you got everything you want, and your bird can sing, but you don't get me". "When your bird is broken, will it bring you down...". Last year I recieved a $42,000 bonus all at once. Satan the devil took hold of me. The materialism set in and outside of other temptations I once had I needed solar pannels to heat my pool. Once connected it started springing leaks. No time to relax and enjoy it. Your point is well taken about taking care of the family, but King Solomom will be the first to tell you, happyness comes from a true devotion to God. He had everything he wanted, slaves and 700 wifes and still wasn't truly happy. Since this thread is on wine, I think I am going to go home and have a glass or two in moderation.:) May Christ and God be with you in your households tonight and everynight. tommy

Now most people have a problem with this miracle. Here is what they say, "Oh Jesus turned water into wine. I can have a little snort once in a while." That is all they see in this miracle. First of all, the Greek word translated "wine" can refer to the juice that is immediately squeezed out of a grape when the grapes are dropped in the wine vat. It can refer to a week's grape juice, in which foam that does appear on the grapes that are fermenting naturally. It can appear at 30 days. It can be used of that which is 3 months or less. It can refer to the wine of Passover which is mixed with three parts water so it is completely diluted from its alcoholism. It can refer to 6 months. It can refer to 3 years which you always throw out. In other words, the Greek word gives you no help as to whether it is connected with current alcoholic processing.

The second thing that is interesting here is that the ruler of the feast identified the kind of wine that it was. He said it is "best" or "good wine." Now at a marriage supper or any feast or occasion, what you serve first is pure grape juice. It is called best wine. To be literal, when the workers bring in the grapes from the fields and drop them on an ancient winepress, the shear pressure of those stacks of grapes causes some of them to break open and the juice drains into a pan that is under that grate. What you will still see today as you did 2000 years ago, the workers will rush in and fight over that pan. They will pull it out and they will literally drink it right on the spot—right out of that pan. That is what is known as "best wine."

Do you understand why this is a miracle? There was no way you could have gotten enough grapes to drop on a winepress to get that much wine (grape juice) into six waterpots of twenty gallons capacity each. There is no way that they would have time to do it. There is no way that they would have had the amount of grapes to do it. It was an absolute astounding miracle of His power over all creation. The best wine, pure unadulterated and unfermented grape juice, is what He changed this into.

Notice that it was said the fine wine was drank first ,and then when they were intoxicated the other wine was given out ,so the fine wine was proper wine able to get people drunk ,i would imagine that once people were a little bit tipsy they would not notice if the wine was rubbish stuff, but jesus only made the wine into the good stuff not the rubbish stuff so i would think it was definitly wine that was intoxicatingfrom Jesus :D only the best from jesus:)

Then the Bible is mis-translated. Because the very term "wine" originally meant an alcoholic beverage made from fermented juice.

From the Greek methusko, meaning "get drunk, become intoxicated." Some commentators argue that the word implies drinking just enough to dull the taste or to produce hilarity. Other texts do not support this view.—Matthew 24:49; Luke 12:45; Acts 2:15; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:7......so the translation i am using is consistent with the word methusko ,that word is used also in these scriptures i have quoted . i find the NWT to be the best for accurate meaning

The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures is published by Jehovah’s Witnesses to help lovers of God’s Word get acquainted with the original Greek text of the Bible. It contains The New Testament in the Original Greek on the left-hand side of the page (compiled by B. F. Westcott and F. J. A. Hort). A literal word-for-word English translation is found under the lines of Greek text. In the narrow right-hand column is the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, which allows you to compare the interlinear translation with a modern English translation of the Bible

it doesnt mean to get Drunk, rather wine to be drunk

Drunk, (-en, be), Drunkard, Drunkenness [Verb]
methuo signifies "to be drunk with wine" (from methu, "mulled wine;" hence Eng., "mead, honey-wine"); originally it denoted simply "a pleasant drink." For John_2:10 see under DRINK. The verb is used of "being intoxicated" in Matt_24:49; Acts_2:15; 1_Cor_11:21; 1_Thess_5:7b; metaphorically, of the effect upon men of partaking of the abominations of the Babylonish system, Rev_17:2; of being in a state of mental "intoxication," through the shedding of men's blood profusely, Rev_17:6.

Drink (-eth, -er, -ing), Drank [Verb]
methuo from methu, "wine, to be drunk," is used in John_2:10 in the Passive Voice, and is translated in the RV, "have drunk freely;" AV, "have well drunk." See DRUNK.
