The bible assures us , there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to (Gods)promise .and in these rightousness is to dwell 2;peter 3;13...Isaiah 65;17. sometimes when the bible speaks of the earth , it means the people who live on the earth. Genesis 11;1 so the rightous new earth is a society of people who recieve Gods approval ....wow what a great thing to look foreward too . rightousness going on in the earth, and the bible says that in the coming new world those approved by God would recieve the gift of everlasting life ...mark 10;30so what did Jesus say we had to do to recieve everlasting life

"For God (Jehovah)loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son,(Jesus) in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.....john 3;16

This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you,(Jehovah) the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. ...john 17;3 ...yes it seems that we have to realize that Jehovah is the true God and Jesus is his only-begotten son . thats seems easy enough doesnt it . no mystery about that is there?wow i cant wait for the time when the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah .how about you?

They will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea....Isaiah 11;9

yes you are right ,to much unrightousness going on in the world, but after all that is the composite sign that Jesus spoke aboutfor the last days of man ruling himself.....war, food shortages, earthquakes, pestilences, but hey, its not all bad news because Jesus also said that there would be Good news going on at the same time as the bad news and what was that?
And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come...matthew 24;14also Daniel foretold that the true knowledge would become abuntant Daniel 12;4:) yes bible prophecy always comes true

Hi Mee,

In addition to this thread I see at least two others started at about the same time that have no apparent purpose other than to promote the JW version of scripture. I have to say that this strikes me as preaching and proselytizing, rather than discussion. :(

While I am interested to learn about the JW beliefs and you should be free to state your views, I think that shouting them from every corner of every thread is becoming distracting and disruptive to the conversations here.

Hi Mee,

Please, in all gentleness, did you read my post to you? These fora are for dialogue, which usually means that you need to engage others in conversation, use your own words and ideas to explain where you want a point to go, ask questions of others, listen to their answers...I'm not saying you never do these things. I'm asking you to consider the purpose of these latest threads and your replies therein.

Just my 2c here.

so why are they not my words ? if my belief is what the bible says , which is that the bible promises a wonderful hope for the earth why not talk about it , i see people who think they are going to heaven starting threads about going to heaven but do they get told off for it?

He's not going to get the point lol.. He thinks he has something that we dont have... and that we should have what he has. I respect that he wants to spread his idea of the gospel.. his purpose is to "save" us. I can actually relate to that.. lol. what he doesnt understand is the tact that this board needs in order to voice your views. We dont need to be preached to. We are all content in our views.. if you happen to say something that makes someone think about what they believe then good... but do it in a discussion format.. not cut and pasting propaganda thats already been put in text for you.

All this time Mee.... I dont even know you.. I dont see personality other than what you try to shove down everyones throat.. Who are you as a person? I have no clue as to what your experiences in your faith are. What has God done in your life? You are more than watchtower..you need to add a bit of yourself to this forum for people to take you as a person and not just text.

Good example is my friend Bandit.. He and I both love God and our bibles.. We dont agree 100% on what the bible says to each of us.. but we have found something that binds us together.. which is that Love that Christ teaches us to have for one another.. I dont try to change his views he doesnt try to change mine. We each have no desire to cause the other to stumble.

Try to find a common ground with people here.. Like myself.. I love God.. I love Jesus Christ and I love my bible.. you love the same three.. Lets start there and not try so hard to alienate each other with random scriptures that we both take differently.

I hope Im making sense.

i am not preaching i am just putting over what the bible says according to my beliefs and i am not cut and pasting propaganda i am putting over the bible i think you are the one to put watchtower links over not me ,you have put links taken from websites to make the JW look bad not me,
"A fool will believe anything."— proverbs14:15, Todays English Version.
Today, propaganda is often associated with a distortion of facts

so lets get it right.all i ever do is put the bible promise of a new world promised in the bible.that is not propaganda it is bible truth or do you not see the glorious good news about the kingdom in the bible?i know i do

Hi Mee,

<sigh> I'm afraid you are not understanding me. I think you are fully right to state your beliefs here. I think it's fine that you post primarily in Bible quotes (although I really would appreciate it if you would indicate which Bible translation you are using where, but well, that's up to you). I find it interesting to learn about JW beliefs. But...Let me put it another way...

I have fairly progressive or liberal Christian views, which is where I post from. Some here probably wouldn't consider me a Christian, or some might say I'm Christian but somewhat unorthodox, or even heretical...oh well. I follow Christ and am a Christian. But, if I started to get frustrated with whatever and started to post lots of threads proclaiming my views, I would hope that one of my brothers or sisters here would point out to me, 'hey luna, you're losing it. Calm down because we otherwise enjoy conversing with you.'

I don't agree with some of your understandings of the Bible and Christ, but I don't think that that creates any real division between us. That's just my view. I have a good friend who became a JW and though we live far apart so we don't talk as much anymore, she is still my good friend. I've found your posts interesting because they give me some insight into her beliefs, which we just never get around to talking about. I've known other JWs to greater or lesser degrees, and they have all been warm, kind people. Except for this forum, I've never run across JW witnessing to much of any degree. So, what I'm saying is: thank you for posting here--I've found it interesting. But...

'hey mee, you're losing it. Calm down because I otherwise enjoy conversing with you.'

I hope you read this in the (light) spirit in which it is intended.

peace,
your sister in Christ,

dont quite understand the calm down bit , i think reading between the lines you are saying dont mention your beliefs based on your understanding of the bible .but if i post on others beliefs that would be ok ,not quite sure why my beliefs are having such a profound efect on others . hmmm now thats food for thought:)

Mee.. you cant deny cut and pasting.. I was for awhile telling you exactly where you were getting your information from. It was easy to find.. you can google anything thats cut and pasted... google is an amazing thing. So even if you are now NOT cut and pasting.. people do not know if you are or not.

My heart is heavy. I'm not sure who said it - I think it may have been JJM who said some time ago how the Body of Christ is united in faith but not in truth.

Problem is that the bible that Mee reads from is a New World Translation. What would make you call a version of the bible a New World Translation? Perhaps a translation of the Bible for a New World Order? - But maybe I should calm down a bit as well because I find lately that whenever I post it takes folks a while to respond or they just go right over my thoughts. I'm not the Christian who fits in a particular denomination but when I use Bible reference in conversation it can be awfully confusing to effectively converse if I am using a Bible that is exclusive to other denominations. Plain and simple English is one thing, but the NWT says something totally different and what it is saying doesn't hold the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. Christianity is based in faith and faith can not be expound without the Holy Spirit.

To the people who believe it to be true, it does carry the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. I think we doom ourselves to frustration (and worse) if we don't see the possibility that others' hold their views as fervently as we do.

There's quite a few beliefs here that I don't agree with - but I'm not really against them. I've wondered why we still indulge Mee in conversation if we take the doctrine in an offensive manner; I am offended by the doctrine because I was involved in it for the first twenty years of my life and I am against what I've seen it do to people - it is a Christian doctrine that is not equally yoked in any way with any other form of Christianity. It is completely divided from the body of Christ in faith. Anyway, I do agree that to those who believe, the doctrine does hold the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. My views are often different but that is how I interpret the Bible. That is not a big threat to anyone. A version of a Christian Bible that is interpreted differently is a threat to those who are Bible believers and especially to those who believe the Bible word for word.

this is pain & it is ok to feel & one day that pain will make you strong for His glory. there are many denominations that do the same thing by saying they are the TRUE church & the only ones.
Religious doctrines are mans ideas of how it is & i think they all have flaws.
It is only an issue when people make it an issue as in forcing someone or taking away someones belief. THAT IS THE THREAT PEOPLE MAKE without realizing it & we can all be guilty if we are not careful.
The hurt & death caused by religion is everywhere you go. It is all part of this.
The history of Christianity after Jesus & the Apostles, is not always been a pretty picture. A doctrine using force will not be of God & that goes for any of them. IMO
it makes me not want the title & that is ok for me.
Jesus left his body here. we still have a work to do. He knows who the members are & he will move them into position & we will know them.

You belong to a temple not made with hands Truthseeker. the temple of the living God, not a doctrine about God & not a religion. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will not be blinded or fall by the winds of doctrine.
Keep your eyes on Jesus and you are in my prayers..& i love you a lot:)

TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS
LOOK FULL IN HIS WONDEFUL FACE
AND THE THINGS OF EARTH
WILL GROW STRANGELY DIM
IN THE LIGHT OF HIS GLORY AND GRACE
