How much do we believe these people and what do we do to stop them?

Diane Sawyer on Tucker Carlson's show: "We asked him what the words of North Korea meant when they said there would be a 'merciless blow' in response to any sanctions? He said he couldn't say specifically but pointed out they have short- and long-range missiles.
He said 'President Bush wants us to kneel down. We cannot agree on that. If it continues, I think it will be natural to have war.'" "If it continues, I asked? He said 'war is inevitable.' What kind of war, I asked? Where would it begin? He says, 'here, on the peninsula.'
I asked him, is his nuclear technology weaponized? Can it be loaded on missiles?" "He would not say whether they could nuclearize their missiles but said, just be assured, we have the facilities to deliver nuclear weapons. We are ready."

What are we prepared to do to stop these people.
Is the word gonna do something or is it going to be America pretty much alone(maybe GBagain) taking care of it?

North Korea apparently has nuclear bombs. They did test a missile earlier, but whether it can carry the nukes or not remains an open question. If they do attack, I suspect South Korea will be the first place they do attack with nuclear warheads. If that happens, I can't see much alternative except the US bombing Pyongyang with a nuclear missile or two, and that would be plenty. I only hope they'll be small bombs and that the nuclear fallout won't spread everywhere...

There's certainly a difference here between this conflict and any others the US has recently engaged in. Iraq doesn't have nukes.

North Korea does seem to do a lot of sabre rattling, like a petulent little boy with a boy toy, who's not able to use it properly. The suggestion on the BBC news reports is that being able to create a nuclear explosion is one challenge, but getting a working version on a warhead brings a whole new set of challenges. Think it's fair to say North Korea has been taking the world for a ride for some time in order to continue it's ideology, but if the world kills aid and trade with North Korea, not sure how much longer they could play ideological games.

Yeah, but he's got those great khaki jumpsuits:D .

IMO North Korea was always a larger threat to the 'allies' and world economy than Sadam. We must remember in both cases it is the leaders and not the people that are the real problem, in both cases the people have been victims of tyranical rule for decades.

NK whether it can attack US or Europe directly is not as much as an issue as the number of countries and locations it can attack with missles that don't go far.. Sadam had Isreal as their only real local target.

It is a big game of risk and quite confusing.

A lot of people are concerned about a rogue state with nuclear capabilities and an idiot at the helm. They're also concerned about NK.

A lot of non Americans don't want America "taking care" of other countries, with or without the poodle of the UK. Iraq's been well "taken care of" hasn't it?

A lot of non Americans are wondering what we can do to stop these people (Americans.)
