yes, would have to say... men are not in charge, and well, if they are, they can be overthrown by a woman proficient in judo!!
a man is only the boss if u allow him to be... having a penis does not embue you with special powers, after all...
...how emancipated women are depends soley on their position within society- a poor working class woman is far more likely to be beaten by her father and brothers for acts of defiance and contravention of socially acceptable behaviours than is a middle class affluent women whose mother reads Marilyn French... women are far more likely to be unpaid carers for their elderly and sick relatives than men are, overtly sexual behaviour in women is still frowned upon in women while tolerated in males, women in partnerships with men are still taking on responsibility for household chores even when both partners are working full time hours, women are still expected to be the ones who take time off to look after the children, etc, a woman is far less likely to be paid a comparable wage with men of the same social class and the lower down the social class u get the worse off u are, two women a week in the UK die as a result of "domestic violence", 1 in 5 women are still raped, and even the successful and rich women complain that their opinions are given less merit than their male colleagues at meetings, and even when they are captains of industry women still speak of glass ceilings and old boys tie networks, and in many professions women just don't get a look in- most films are for instance, directed and produced by men, most great literary classics are from male pens, and most sci-tech types are also blessed with a magical phallus also...
yes, and as we know, all these things are the result of women only recently becoming citizens in their own right, no longer chattel, or the weaker sex, but powerful, independent, equal citizens, yet 1928, the year of women's suffrage, was not that long ago, and it will take a few more years before the message sinks in enough for what we have been promised to actually occur- to be allowed the luxury of being equals to men...
...according to statistics, women still get the thin end of the wedge, although we are scaling that disparity incline using our stilleto's like crampons in the West, not all our sisters are so well off- unfortunately, organised religion and economic policies have a great part to play in this suppression and devaluing of women, and unless women themselves decide they've had enough men will never give it up to them, as divide and rule is a very successful strategy- if u can convince half of the population they are inferior then u only have to worry about the other half: it's only when the men realise womens issues are also mens issues and vice-versa will people become more civilised and tolerant of each other and then maybe work on things which are really important, together, and the world will be a better place, but that becomes less likely on a daily basis for some...
..it is not only "the pagans" who acknowledge a Goddess- for catholics we have a suitable outlet in the Holy Mother of God, Mary! yes, we tried to get rid of Goddess worship, ur Holiness, but we enraged the peasants... can we not allow them to give offerings to their holy wells in another way, sire..?
...history is littered with enchantresses and priestesses, and female seers, goddesses of grain, goddesses of fruits and flowers, goddesses of fertility and abundance, positive fecund goddesses, goddesses of moons, and tides, yet I think that as priests and their holy phalluses became more popular the goddesses where usurped, and the world of goddesses became the realm of demonesses and crones, willful whores of babylon and deceivers of men, and as women became filthy tainted bloody things, less than men, no longer bounteous givers of life, seductive maidens and warriors; they became mere chattel, possessions of men, and given no more value than cattle...
...was this long ago suppression of women deliberate? did millions of women really die during the witch trials? you bet they did...
moon and sun, wind, rain, earth herself, all worshipped, all given equal measure, all important to man... until the saviours came, and put us all in chains...
... yes, ooh! the mighty phallus, but without the celestial yoni a man is just an onanist...
