I am going to add to the hundreds of useless threads here..

I predict that tomorrow Monday August 6 2007 ... Something very bad is going to happen. Something that is going to shock the world.

:O Apple is making a major announcement specifically related to to their computer line that rumors suggest may have to do with the new imac...

oh wait... that's the 7th. Phew!

I predict that within the next day someone on this forum whose name begins with a... I'm getting a... abawoosheeeddddd dooo dree daaarrr daaauuuer is going to feel a craving for something, like a nagging inclination or sense that there's something this person really needs. Maybe a drink of water, or a bite to eat, or companionship or amusement... it's getting fuzzy... no, wait, I see... a bowl of chili... very chunky... reheated in the microwave...

Hmmmm...two to one. Dauer, since women are more intuitive than men (as we all well know), I'm listening to them.

Guess we'll all have to wait till tomorrow.

Come to think of it, I did have a very wise person tell us to watch out for the creature from the black lagoon. I don't think that he was joking either.

flow....

I know my post was out of character. But, 22,000 people die each day. Due to extreme poverty.

I find that shocking.

How do I say this without sounding completely terrible??

22k die in poverty every day....yet the stats below show us creating more life at twice the rate we loose it...I don't know about other nations but in the US those in poverty...those with less education create more children than those middle income educated..

So how do we reverse the trend? The answer does not appear to be feeding the poor as then they reproduce more poor... We need to figure out how to educate and empower the poor, the impovershed...

back to teach a man to fish....

Frankly I think that if we can feed them we should feed them. You can't be educated or empowered if you are speinding all of your energy and time trying to get enough calories to last one more day. That's the type of poverty that claims the 22,000 each day.

By the way, I heard this stat second hand in a sermon about an economist who helps countries trying to fix their economies, not just throwing money at the problem.

Right now, for pretty much the first time in history, it is in our abilities to prevent these deaths. And it does not call for a large individual sacrifice...it's very very small sacrifice on the part of many people.

I predict that in the next week President Bush will say something really, really dumb, G-d will be used as an excuse to kill and I will eat one too many cream cakes. I wonder if I will turn out to be psychic? (I tend to have as much intuition as a boiled egg).

Yeah, but even just 2 out of 3 ain't bad! ;)

I predict that the next president of the US of A will be male, caucasian and at least moderately wealthy.

Chris,

I think to understand Hillary's situation you need to go review the gender thread.
