The problem with all governments is that power corrupts….
How many people actually believe that this world could be a Utopian Paradise if only we had good quality leadership…
How many people believe that if, we the people, actually made the decisions, the laws, the plans etc… by means of a majority vote (not 51% but rather 75% or more) that this world, each nation, all of us, would be far better off today and forever if we were in charge of our own destiny.
How many people believe that if this world comes to an end that it is our own fault….

We the people….
We the sentient beings of this life world in space.
There may or may not be a god/s that can save us or send us to hell but how many people believe that it is actually up to us to make the most of what, we the people as a whole, have here on this world.

IF we don’t wake up and take control of our own destiny soon it will be our own fault and our greatest loss if we the people, and our utopian world perish…

We all must become the heroes, champions and defenders of our descendants. We must ensure our future is eternal… We must take control of our destiny…
The possibilities are as endless as space is infinite… But not if we destroy our selves before we even get started…

We are still in the womb, lets grow old together as one humble entity… Earthsapians
Perhaps some day an alien will say "I’ve heard about those who come from Earth, they had a rough start, but look at them now; An inspiration to us all….

I believe if we had quality leadership we'd be better off.

I don't believe that 75% majority would improve the situation.

I believe we are at fault for our own demise.

And that we created the reality that exists today.

The idea of every individual being more responsible, by voting more often, would still descend into self interest and mob rule with minorities ever more marginalised. I still prefer the notion that we should be called to do government duty rather like we are drafted or called to do jury duty. A random cross section of society with a second house that is payed very well, and signed up for lifetime commitment, but prohibited from having any outside business interests or affiliations. The combination of these two could insure that everybody's interests were taken into account.

I find it impossible to make any predictions at the moment. Things are very volatile and big change is afoot but where it will lead I just cannot guess. The only one I would have a stab at is that I cannot see the US remaining the dominant player that much longer.

I vote that laws be enacted to impose responsibility to any who represent ‘people’ .

Meaning; if a man lies, then his is responsible for the opinion. If a man lies while representing people that does not represent the people, then they are responsible to them and let it be harsh.

If a corporation owns proprietary knowledge that is proven to benefit humanity even if it will cause the corporation loss of revenue, then either they develop the product or they loose the propriety.

In both cases leadership must always have ‘we the people’ as the priority to each and every determination over the benefit of the self. I find that many of the great leaders put themselves as second to the people they represent.

Are you indicating that those that write the laws should be responsible for and not have immunity from the laws they write?

Do you mean that they should have the same health care and retirement benefits that the lowest of their consitituents receieve?

Heresy I say. You should see a doctor, me thinks you are ill.

thanks as that was a compliment ;)

As for the opening posts by bruno, I will concur, power can make a beast of anyone..... been there, done that....... do not ever want it again... as it was the ugliest period i had ever been..... managed banks with billion dollar production and thought I was really something special..... :(

Big change is always afoot… The future is truly what we make it.. Humanity has always been a brutal species prone to wild imaginations concerning what this reality actually is.

Take Ghengis Khan for instance…he whas the Khan of Khans a great leader destined to be the king of all people…
The people who lived anywhere near this man felt that big change was more than afoot.

"The greatest happiness is
to vanquish your enemies,
to chase them before you,
to rob them of their wealth,
to see those dear to them
bathed in tears, to clasp to
your bosom their wives
and daughters"
-GHENGIS KHAN

Indeed the only thing that stays the same is the fact that everything is going to change…

You may be right about the US but I too would like to make one tentative prediction…
It’s going to get much worse before it gets better, but it will get better….

You’ve no doubt heard of the wrath of Ghengis Khan? Many people found it easier to submit than to resist him…
All who surrender will be spared;
whoever does not surrender but opposes with struggle and dissension,
shall be annihilated.
-GHENGIS KHAN
The time has come for change indeed…
This sort of leadership did not end with the death of Ghengis Khan but it must end…
Even if it takes a war… We must grow up and take responsiblity for our world or we will all die.
