What's Happenin?
I am new here as you can see!

I am interested in learning and reading about what people have on their minds.

My age, martial status, family and location is something that I would like to keep private at this time.

I am looking forward to reading more topics on this site, as I have read a few threads, and I am totally amazed at the intellect of some people here and other's I am wondering as to why they even commented.......lol

God Bless

So, far Alex P. you have made me feel very welcome here :D "Thank You"

lol, that brings something else to my mind, besides everyone having a comment! lol

But, we are entitled to our opinion, it is just that we may not agree with it and that is okay. As we should be open to new ideas and ways of thinking.....we are individuals and that is what makes us unique.

I feel that it is all about seeing the world through anothers eyes and trying to understand what is on their mind, and to try to help if I can to find the answers that they seek, or to just be a friend who cares about their ideals and thinks that they are important as they are.

I hope that I will be able to intellectually contribute.

This will definitely be an experience for me.

God Bless

Again, welcome to the site brother. :)

The beauty of forums.. ;) Everyone's got a comment.

But that could change?.....

Good to meet you Ian.
It is very nice to meet you also Netti-Netti :eek:}

Yes, you are very correct, about things changing but for right now.....this is how I would prefer it to be.

Your avatar is beautiful Netti-Netti.....it must be a reflection of how beautiful the owner is!

There is something valuable in every posters thoughts here. The real question is are you smart enough to find it?

Sometimes I find that CR is hugely valuable in just posing all the right questions. Even when I think "Erm, I don't think so" about something, it is the value of activating my mind and posing questions to me that I might not pose to myself.

Now that I look back on 3 years or so, I have this huge journal of my thoughts on nearly everything vaguely spiritually related. It's really kind of cool. I see areas I struggle with, grow in, areas in which I am steadfast... It's like a little personal journey and a communal journey with people that are "strangers" and yet you get to know their innermost selves. I get to by-pass all the small-talk and get to the good stuff.

Anyhoo, hi there and welcome!

Yup, thats it in a nutshell. Also wisdom is not always a deliberate thing, it can come as if by accident in the most unlikely of places. If you only ever listen to those with whom you agree you will not learn much. You do not have to agree nor disagree on everything, but I see little point in a mutual agreement forum and that is why I have hung around here so long.

gday gday and welcome Ian,
we like to have vigorous discussions here, and some of us (like me) just like to sit back and watch. LOL. Anyways, enjoy yourself.

Yep- absolutely. I like disagreement and contention, so long as it's mostly polite. And I like getting surprised with my reactions to things. :D

Hello Tao,

I am neither an intellect or genius. I am just a regular person. I can read between the lines. So, in the majority of cases, I can get it.

Thank you your welcome

Ian

And you are welcome :)

Such a curious American phrase that, "regular". Over the pond here it would mean you have no problems with constipation. But I gather it does not mean that where you are. Anyhow.....I digress..

You very rarely will have to read between the lines with me. I generally mean what I say. Except, of course, when I do not. :D

lol

Over here way across the pond, "regular" has alot of different meanings, and yes you are correct, it does mean that too, but people here seem to be a little more crass in their speaking!

Ah, a person who is direct and to the point! lol You are funny! I am sure that we will get along well.

Hello to you to Path,

I am looking forward to sharing this spiritual journey with all of you, until it is time for me to move on.

Right now, everyone here has made me feel very welcome. It is a shame that the real world is not more like this.

Yes, it is very nice to be able to have a discussion, reading and reacting to another’s point of view. The only bad thing is that you cannot hear someone's laughter, hear the tone in their voice as they are speaking, seeing their eyes well up when something touches their heart, and see their face turn red with embarrassment or anger.

Thank you Path for your warm welcome,

Ian

Tao,
I see that you enjoy a good challenge. A good debate is always very inspirational to the mind and spirit, otherwise we would be living in quite a dull place. We just need to remember to play well with others while we are in the sandbox......that is until you find a kitty turd and then it becomes free game! lol
