Perhaps people look at the site but don't participate because of the set up on the front page? Perhaps people are offended but participate anyway? s.
Well there's obviously more than one way to set the page up. The religions could, for instance, but listed alphabetically. No need for endless repetitions there. s.
Perhaps it depends on what you mean by "broke." IMO it is certainly inconsistent and disrespectful. So I think it could definitely benefit from some "fixing" s.
If someone would be offended by something as insignificant as that, they probably wouldn't last long around here, anyway. Being offended by words is not really conducive to dialogue, is it?
Hey, I'm dialogueing eek aren't I? I just think things could be significantly improved that's all. It was never going to say "Middle Eastern Thought" was it? What's wrong with a little more consistency? s.
Well, it really doesn't matter that much to me. (It's difficult for me to stay within the realm of one religion on a board dedicated to that religion.) However, that serves to highlight the natural consistencies acrossed religions that might otherwise be lost if the 'separate but equal' rule was consistently enforced. Enforcing too much 'consistency' leads to a loss of natural spontaneity, and therefore natural appreciation of the different faiths, imo.
Do any of us really think Brian has a slant in this regard? Do any of us feel this message board has an intended slant? It appears as we've checked in the past this place is frequented mostly by US and UK and mostly by Christians...when one does the averages of those with online abilities in these countries I'd say our demographics are fairly well matched. kudos to Brian for all he's done, and the changes he's made to improve the site. I for one appreciate it, whilst I also appreciate my Hindu friends, and their thought.
Yes and yes. I amazed at the amount of hog wash that is being thrown around trying to justify something as blatantly wrong as referring to alternative religion as simply "Alternative". They are religions after all not alternatives to religion. I don't care how many people around here worship Brian. If he insists on leaving the message board titles the way they are he most certainly is promoting an agenda. He may being trying to be sly about it but it's pretty transparent. I mentioned before the united house of Beezlebub and Jesus. Did you know that Buddha and Krishna also have a united house that contain many demons? Why not just give Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism the respect that they deserve?
Giving religions the respect they deserve? lol, they are just forum titles.... I could perhaps see it justified... But, you seem to be the only person picking at it.... So in my like 5 years here.... One person speaking of it... Can't be that major an issue... "if you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself." Maybe this quote could apply to you? Why don't you go and make an interfaith forum Just a suggestion.
That's ignorant. There are at least two people speaking against it right now and as testified by at least one other person in this thread this subject has come up before on this message board. Obviously this is an ongoing problem that is most probably turning people away from these boards and is thus counterproductive to a real interfaith dialogue.
Bzzzzzzzzzz Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Bzzzzzzzzz BZZZZZZZZZ take off yer bonnet laddy!! Cant you see it says "religion faith and theology" at header?
Hi All, Decisions about the format of the board are made by I, Brian and right now he is away, so he has not seen this thread. I'm sure he welcomes suggestions to the site, which is what the Feedback Forum is for. However, it's exceedingly difficult to make categories for religions that are simple, make sense and please most people. However, the current set up of the board by no means intends to favor or slight any group. luna
What does that have to do with what we are discussing? And P.S. keep the queer Scot comments to yourself. What a crock. This is a pretty shabby sham you guys are running around here.
