if it were possible to prove that a god exists, their beliefs and behavior would not change. Similarly, there would be no change if someone proved that god does not exist.

I can't see how everything could NOT change if deities were proven or unproven. Here I am a non-theistic Luciferian with an agnostic stance, if I were to find out one way or the other whether deities exist or not, this knowledge would greatly change my perceptions and cause me to reevaluate everything in my life.

How couldn't it?
Apatheism = new meaning to "ignorance is bliss?" :D

Good grief yes, it's the de facto religion of the UK. Attendance at christenings, weddings and funerals is a social pleasure / expectation. People care about ( from the definition ) shopping, boozing, celebrities and sport. Many folk think anyone with opinions on religion (whether atheists or people who are "into religion") are a bit weird...

Etu brute, it appears it not only can be but is almost a given to be both apathetic to both theism and atheism hence apatheistic tis quite appropriate?

Etu, I too had issues with that statement. But now think about it, it may cause you to change your perceptions, it may cause you to reevaluate everything.....but will the info change the who you are....the way you are with other people....

I think in reality this only applies to the "I strive to be moral and ethical because i want to goto heaven or I don't wanto goto hell....if I knew there were nothing I'd f everyone over all the time..." I just don't think there are that many of those people out there

I see the upper left as Thinks they know there is no God and upper right as thinks they know there is a god?

Is up practical, down mystical, right spiritual understanding, left material understanding?

Top--agnostic (don't know)
Bottom--gnostic (knows)
Left--atheism
Right--Theism

I'm thinking I should have put gnosticism at the top and agnosticism at the bottom to make it more like political compass. :p

There! Much better! Now the "know-it-all's" are up with the political authoritarian know-it-all's, and the "don't know's" are down with the libertarians! (As it should be, imo.) The Atheists are on the Left because they think the State is God, and the Theists are on the Right because they think "God is on their side."
