Your Daily Rant

I bought me a RFID blocking wallet.
I have RFID blocking inserts in my wallet as does my wife. Thing is, you have to take the card out to use it and some of those readers have quite a long working range. In my case, I only use that particular card for gas. I'm convinced it was a skimmer device attached to the pump either internally or externally. The bogus charges occurred less than an hour after using it their. I also find the nature of the charges, the nationality of the station owner and his defensive posture when alerted more than a bit suspicious. Oh well, sign of the times we live in I suppose...

I suppose "sign of the times we live in" is quite accurate and so is Wil's comment about the bank's aloofness. One way or the other the consumer always picks up the tab anyway...

Did you report it? the location and use?

I meant report it.to the police... You have the date and time if the transactions, let the fraud dept.look into the potential skimmers

Concerning identity theft via "skimming"/other similar methods: been there, done that, t-shirts're in the wash (sibling in my case.)

It's the reason I can't have my own bank account (the sibling also committed forgery, writing checks for stuff when I was nowhere near the establishment, plus s/he tried to get cars/cable packages set up in my name.) I also had someone in my family pick up my weekly allotment without my knowledge or consent (I have a note on my file that I'm the only one who can sign my allotment since my rl friends now live in Chicago and Des Moines.)

I'm grateful that I live with :kitty:s instead of siblings.

So, I joined another forum last week, (not faith oriented). Holy crap! Anything that doesn't mimic the opinion of the moderators, and there are many, is unceremoniously disallowed and deleted. Heaven forbid anyone should ask for clarification of one of the many forum rules. You'll simply get a PM with the rule in question re-written in a much larger bold font. Puts me in mind of Americans who travel overseas and when not understood, simply repeat the same thing louder.

I can take that as a rousing endorsement of my approach, right? :)

Major rant here, even though it doesn't involve me directly:
Why was a woman who had a couple of outstanding warrants in Washington (the state) for animal cruelty arrested in Oregon with 42 cats in her car, one dead and the rest happy to get fresh water and food from the shelter? Especially when the car she was driving smelled so strongly of cat due to both solid and liquid waste that the officers' eyes were watering! The interior has to be completely replaced if the car itself can be salvaged otherwise!

To Whom It May Concern,

If you have a dog, no matter the breed or size, please keep it on a leash near any and all streets, especially a busy one with semis and/or bus traffic going through regularly.

Luckily for everyone involved, nobody was hurt this time, including the pooch.

To Whom It May Concern,

Nobody wants to hear/listen to your problems unless they are in a profession that deals with this stuff. The same goes for disjointed ravings about a fooking quarter.

Someone "manning" the register at a petrol station/convenience store doesn't fall into either category, nor (most) customers.

If you have a psychiatrist/therapist appointment in a nearby clinic, that is where you can let loose with any/all complaints.

PS: hot coffee is not recommended when the temperature outside is in the low-to-mid eighties.

To Whom It May Concern:

If you encounter an Ebay listing specifically stating that the seller will only ship within the Continental United States and you reside elsewhere..... DO NOT BID!!!!

To Whom it May Concern,

Please keep your "conquests" private, especially on public transportation. Ditto any/all arguments on your cell phone. We don't need to know your private affairs, okay?

Another thing: I'm not interested in dating someone I only know on the bus (and that's just barely.)

To Whom It May Concern,

If you find every vehicle on the road heading towards you (and not up your boot/trunk,) chances are that you are the one who's going the wrong way on a one-way street. Moreso if every parked vehicle is facing the same direction as traffic. You almost had a head-on collision with a fooking bus!

Indeed so.
I have twice driven the wrong way on a motorway after being confused by signs. I was wondering why everyone was flashing me..and then I realised and did a manic u-turn. Whew !:eek:

Hopefully it was before a bit over a kilometer had passed before you realized your error.

It's worse when there's what I call "road destruction".

To Whom It May Concern:

Where did you get your driver's license? One of the questions on the written test pertains to what you did today. You do not make a right turn in front of a bus because it is against the law. I ended up even later for my appointment because some idjit actually hit the bus that I was on (I still got to see the person that I needed to because her next client didn't show up or bother to let her know they weren't coming.)

To Whom It May Concern #2:

If you're going to be late or not even show up, let the other person know so that they can accommodate any-/everyone after you, especially if the other person is in one of the medical fields I make sure that the other person does if at all possible, and it doesn't take long to do so.

Sorry folks. The Auss is gonna blow!

When you've broken bread with primitive Aboriginal families in their traditional tribal setting, participated in their ceremonies and rituals, witnessed the joy on their faces at the sight of new life coming into the world or been rendered aid by a tribal hunter dressed only in a loin who put himself in harms way to ensure your safety and well being, wiped away the tears of a native child who had just lost a beloved pet or held a dying Aboriginal baby in your arms who had just been denied much needed medical care at a state run hospital for civilized society and felt her mother's tears on your face as her tiny infant baby drew it's last breath, only to have protective services days later label her an unfit mother and remove her remaining children while she still grieve or witnessed first hand the devastating affects of plunging displaced natives into so called civilized society, you can start telling me about how backward and barbaric Native Australian Aboriginals are because of their lack of dress and how much more compassionate modern clothed societies are. Until then however, just shut the hell up ass. You don't know what you're bloody talking about!!!
