I can't follow the Headlines...the horrific seems essential for folks to pass on.

Good News only, Uplifting News... News of personal heroics and successes...news of scientific breakthrus which will benefit all of humanity..news of new astronomical discover...news of joy...

Oh and no cats. We have a thread for cats...we have a huge percentage of the internet dedictated to cats, porn, and bad news..(IDK which is most prevalent)

So post away the goodness you find in humanity in the news, on the web, from your FB feed, whatever... it helps keep my rose colored glasses clear...

A work-release group in Georgia saved the life of the deputy in charge of them, plus they stayed at the site until they had to go back to their cells. It happened roughly the same time as the two (unrelated) convicts murdered the officers in charge of their prison transfer.

What's ironic is that the work-release convicts, in spite of the fact that they all had access to the deputy's gun, the vehicle and everything they pretty much needed for an escape, but they treated the guy for heat exhaustion/heat stroke as much as they could (one used the downed officer's phone to call 9-1-1 before he returned to his job) and they were actually commended for their actions by the sheriff himself.
