What's For Dinner?

I'm going to try the "receipt" using decaffeinated tea instead of regular.

Anyway, have you ever tried white tea? I have some loose leaf white with rose petals, and I believe that it has less caffeine than even green...

I haven't ever tried white tea. I'll look out for it.

I don't think its the caffeine that does it to me, but rather the tannins. I've had bad reactions to other drinks with high tannins as well(which is a shame, I rather like red wine).

I had a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches and a bicoloured corn on the cob (a bit of garam masala-infused butter), peach lemonade and medications for "dessert".

The Trio had their ubiquitous crunchies with Milwaukee tap water.

Homemade blueberry waffle with a bit of blueberry pie filling as a sauce, a reduced-sugar root beer float (I used zero sugar root beer along with a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream) and my ubiquitous medications.

The Trio had shredded beef and poultry gooshy food and Milwaukee tap water (the water is ubiquitous, the gooshy food not so much...)

I doctored a package of shells (macaroni) and white cheese by adding tinned pinto beans that I rinsed and drained before adding them to the macaroni and cheese. I also had iced white tea with rose petals to drink along with the ubiquitous medications. The tea was cold to counteract the heat/humidity here.

The Trio had crunchies and Milwaukee tap water (as usual.)

A salad made with fresh baby spinach, fresh strawberries and blueberries, and topped with blue cheese salad dressing, ice white tea and rose petals and medications (as usual.)

The Trio had their ubiquitous crunchies and "Milwaukee tap" (aka water.)

Sauteed Portobello mushroom cap "steak" sandwich on a brioche-style hamburger bun, garden salas with blue cheese dressing, decaffeinated Earl Grey tea and the ubiquitous medications for me. Oh and a small raspberry snack cake to "celebrate" National Raspbrtty Cake Day in the United/"United" States...

The Trio had crunchies and Milwaukee tap water (as usual.)

Vegetarian mousaka, sweetened decaffeinated Earl Grey tea and the ubiquitous medications ("dessert" iykwim.)

The Trio have their crunchies and Milwaukee tap water (some of you might know what I'm talking about...)

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Homemade vegetarian lasagna, diet ginger ale, a peach melba-inspired tartlet and medications (for "dessert") on my plate.

Crunchies sprinkled with catnip/matatabi blend, tap water (almost all ubiquitous) for The Trio...

My wife loves my lasagna! I made it while she was at work as a surprise.

Found out my son is a huge fan! If he smells leftover lasagna being made in the microwave he immediately runs to the drawer and grabs a fork. It's the cutest thing seeing him play with a toy, smell the lasagna, and then jump up to go grab a fork. I'll take that as a compliment from a toddler.

A vegetarian double cheeseburger with romaine lettuce, red onion and a couple of slices of heirloom tomato on a brioche bun. The cheddar was sharp enough to cut itself, plus I used chunky blue cheese dressing instead of catsup or stoneground mustard. I also had a homemade apple dumpling and decaffeinated vanilla chai along with the ubiquitous medications.

The Trio had their crunchies sprinkled with a combination of dried catnip and matatabi, plus the ubiquitous Milwaukee tap water.

Tomorrow's menu for me is a vegetarian Monte Cristo sandwich, a serving of sugarfree butterscotch pudding and homemade cherry lemonade, while The Trio will have a treat (tinned gooshy food with water on the side...)

Both green and white tea have less tannins than either oolong or black tea AFAIK (just ask either your physician or your pharmacist...)

Now, as for what I had for dinner... I found a cookbook in one of the "little libraries", and I made a couple of the "receipts" that it contained (one was a vegetarian sandwich and the other was a vegetable "platter" that I cut the "receipt" in half [I live alone except for The Trio, and I'm not exactly on "speaking terms" with my neighbours...]) I also got several ears of fresh corn on the cob as well as a few fresh hot peppers that I "nuked" as well as brewed some decaffeinated Constant Comment and had my medications for "dessert". I'll post the "receipts" in Mystery Thread if anyone's interested

The Trio had their crunchies and Milwaukee tap water, as usual.
