Based on Terry Goodkind's best-selling fantasy series, The Sword of Truth, this series follows woodsman Richard Cypher as he transforms from woods guide to magical leader, with a task to stop a vicious tyrant.

Who is watching this? This show is sweet, it is just like a game series I play called Elder Scrolls and even has locations with the very same names as those in the Elder Scrolls... Hmmm heh.

Anyway sweet show if you've not seen it, I'd recommend it lol.

Heh, Terry Goodkind is one of the most contentious "fantasy" authors - not least because he claims he doesn't write fantasy, and has a very high opinion of himself. :)

He also managed to write the most comic scene in fantasy literature - the evil chicken - which is a chicken possessed by evil powers who chases the protagonist around the a room. However, Goodkind protests that it was a serious exploration of morality and those who can't see that and think it funny are just stupid. :)

Apparently, they are making a TV version of George R R Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" series which may be worth looking out for. To be honest I think the books wander needlessly and have become something of a soap opera in themselves (something a lot of sff suffers from), but ASoFaI has a strong cast and an absolutely brutal story.
 
"A good thing" is an understatement :S

As for these books no idea as I don't read books, but the TV show is freaking awesome. I really love the ideas, design/feel, script, characters all of it.. It's good. I can also see a huge plot for a second season. ;) I hope they go with it, there is a forum on the book writers site where you can add advice and ideas for the L.o.t.S. So I may have to put it there if they don't think of it/go with it.

I watched S1.E 3 &4 last night, but could not find any links for E 1 or 2 that would play in my "geographical region", which sucks, as I wanted to watch those opening parts.
But new links are found regularly.
I thought they were well made and enjoyed em.

Too bad you don't get into the books Alex, as they are so much better than the movies or shows.
the script writers and producers/directors always take artistic license with a book and alter it in so many ways, that often it misses major components which the book readers are aware of.

I am a confirmed book junkie (my major vice) and have read thousands over the years.
 
I have failed to ever gain interest in books... I see no magical worlds or characters or events... I just see paper with words on it :( And that is too dull for my mind... My mind is a lazy one ;) The work must be done for it... Much better that way.
