But.... 50.... 50 Ice hockey games Oh. my. god.... Heaven.

I implore to you.... Where can I watch them?

Second thing. We did beat Canada in the 1936 final and were the Gold medalist champions ;) Also in 1924 we were bronze medalists.... Somewhere along the line our asshole country decided to waste money on "soccer" football instead..... Hockey started to lose it's appeal..... You can learn to play football and get training as a kid at schools... But Hockey just isn't an option... Other nations you have better opportunities to become hockey players.......

So to your question is hockey played... Of course it is... Just not a major sport.... Getting there now ;) I used to play for a City team! :D Sheffield Steelers!!! I enjoyed playing Nottingham Panthers the most lol.... Oh the fights were very common.... OH! And I've played a game on the 1976 Austrian Olympic Rink in Innsbruck.

It is now on Sky sports are like sport cable.....

The only sport I have -ever- had a like in... Although Like is by far a too weak word... Passion. Try passion? Yeah that will work, passion.

Go to a capitol's game? Wouldn't of thought... You'd of enjoyed watching hockey? But, yeah I would love to go to an NHL game... Never have... That would be, an experience I'd never forget.... I would ideally like to see the wings play... So say next time the wings are in town ;) We'll get revenge for last month.... Close game... We nearly had the capitols.
 
Back in the 70's Caps games were $6 a seat....and we'd move down to empty seats on the glass. (of course so were rock concerts...think the Stones was $10 and we thought it outrageous)

No, I was just chucklin that you had pride in winning in '36...3/4 of a century ago...maybe even before your folks were born?

C eh, N eh, D eh that is where Hockey started...by bored Brits yes...but it had to be in a land that had ice...

Of course that is exactly the issue with this years Olympics....no ice...

I wanna make sure I don't miss the opportunity to observe the biggest hockey tournament ever... Yup, even greater than Stanley's cup. Addiction... Yeah perhaps... As a kid guess what films I watched like... A million times? LOL Of course The mighty ducks! And slap shots.... Although Second slap shots is way better than the first... Slap shots is overrated, best hockey movie of all time... Mystery Alaska.... Period.... Wild "open ice" games... That must be so awesome.

open ice games are great, particularly on a big lake, but it really sucks when you have to wade through snow drifts looking for the puck......that happens a lot.

I played when I was younger, got up to bantams, then all my equipment got stolen when I went to BC. supertac skates, aluminum stick, cooperalls, etc, good kit it was. I never replaced it and went other directions.
But it is fun to play.
I never really liked to watch it much, and can't fathom the fascination with doing so, but did enjoy playing around with my stick trying to score....:eek: LOL.

Sweden won their first game with a 3 goal shutout on Switzerland.... I was refreshed and greatful to a see a hockey game, but... The female game, just, isn't.... The same lol.

Switzerland sucked pretty much 80% of the game. Start of the second period, they came out looking a different team, but within 8 mins or so... That kinda wore off... They needed to assert themselves and be more aggressive... But, seeing their Switzerland... I guess it's in their nature to take a more coward stance LOL.

Not, one fight...... Not even close... That upset me :(

Ah well! Another game in an hour!!! WOOOOOO! :D Roll on!
 
I gotta say....the opening ceremonies were spectacular! Quite the creative folks to put that together. I could watch a documentary on the meetings and discussions of those folks...

Strange watching American/Canadian TV... Jeez.... How many freaking adverts and breaks are there? This is so freaking annoying lol.... They have a break.. Come back for like 3 mins TOPS then go to %W$W"$"" adverts again....
 
LOL!!! You have adverts for erection disfunction?!?! LMAO!!! And that big swiz American accent just finished me off... omg... I am in tears... Some of the million adverts you see in between what you are trying to watch are just.... Unbelievable lol..... Noticed they just, don't stop advertising bunch of sell outs even during the game there is like 20 plugs of some product.... lol. This is an interesting experience.

Uhm... First period.... Canada 7 Slovakia 0.

So I guess that is my prediction gone... Unless by some miracle... Canada forget how to score.... And Slovakia's Keeper starts being a keeper....

She has fallen over 4 times.... Lost her stick 4 times. This is the worst keeper I have ever seen, I feel so bad for her... Hopefully Next period.. Slovakia will realise they're playing hockey..... And start joining in.

Noticing that women's hockey strongly lacks aggression / stick skill / passing accuracy.

Before I let you get the update just something to think over.

When two fighters.... Enter a ring, and it is CLEAR one fighter cannot defend themselves or create any offense.... The ref to SAVE the fighters health will stop the game......

This is the case here... The ref to SAVE the Solvakian... Dignity lol... Should be stopping it...

Canada 13 (unlucky for some.. Yeah if you're wearing a blue jersey.) Solvakia ZERO.

Slovakians in the first 6mins.. Started to improve... As in... They got to take one shot.... And stop any goals going in their net.... lol then it went back to business as usual... Keeper dropping her stick 3 times.... All times ending in a loss of a goal.... :/

Last period coming up... May their next 20mins of shame and pain seem swift, bless um.

Commentry seemed... Soft, Aww they're doing their best... The keeper is doing her best... Slovakia are doing their best... The keep did good at such and such a date and so and so... And they did good when they played bulgaria (lol do they even know what ice is?)

Be honest... I'd be like.... These guys were outclassed different league walked over and played ship... The keeper was ship. The defense was ship. The team work was ship. The skating... Communication, offense... Aggressiveness, awareness... All round ship. LOL

Nutshell:
Canada: Great shooting practice, when does the game start?
Slowvakia: If you hadn't turned up, you'd probally of stood more of a chance.

No watching our television sports sucks especially when they go into the soupy crap...just give me the event.

Yes a luge accident killed a young man the day it all started...the had to slow down and modify the course they were so worried.
 
I think it is such a waste man... A fricken hockey game is 60 mins..... In three 20min segments.... Yet..... It takes me 3 fricken hours to watch a game..... Which sucks.... On work days I can only get one match in....

I found many American adverts.... Different lol... And I found Canadian Adverts to be like Russian communist vibe.... We the Canadian people... We the Canadians... Canadian workers... Made in Canada by Canadians.... Canada this Canadians that... Really... Find that strange....

Is it like this for movies as well? (large amount of adverts) I'd forget the plot most of the time lol...

What a sad loss (man on luge) I wouldn't have the balls to do that sport... It's crazy... As to his sad loss, didn't they like.... Test? The track before letting real live humans go down it?
