Dream a little Dream

You may have noticed that there is not much of a way to respond to that statement. Its one of those Agree or Disagree statements that lead the conversation in a certain direction. That is why I can neither agree nor disagree, but I felt I would respond because you put Dream in the heading. I mean, some people really think death is permanent; and there are good reasons to think so. There are also reasons to think it is not so.

This is one aspect of Goedel's problem, that what is true in one consistent context becomes false or at least unproveable in a larger context, and that context similarly is no longer consistent in the larger context. (See Goedel, Escher, Bach). Onward and outward this disturbance propagates into whatever size system you seek to establish consistency of your truth. Context is like an onion that keeps adding layers, and each one burns when you bite it. In other words, even if you are correct there is a larger sense in which you are neither right nor wrong about the afterlife or at least in which your view of the universe is not consistent. Logic is a failure in that it cannot prove itself, and life after death arguments rely too much on logic to uphold any commitment. If there is an afterlife, then it is entirely possible that there is an end to it as well and possibly a permanent end, because you have an entirely new context which cannot be described within this one.

Well I'm on the agree side....

I've been slipping in that direction for a few years...

I think the entire world consciousness must be going that way....

Like we are tilted right toward a heavenly earth existence...

I only say this because all that is perceived as negative is becoming less and less concerning to me, while I know more and more that all is good.
