The humour was spoilt by the 'f' word at the end which certainly wasn't necessary, imo!

I agree. I took a look at several different pages on this guy's website. He uses way too much profanity everywhere on his website, and it comes off as stupid and juvenile.

That happens a lot and not just because of profanity. This very forum is a good example.
How many times has a good point been made, but the use a controversial word or phrase ended up becoming the focus rather than the point itself?
Might be why a lot of threads get off topic so quickly.

I think threads have a habit of going off topic. Look at my 'street pastor' one for instance!
On another forum on which I post there is a thread entitled, 'Topic for going off topic'!

I think sometimes you learn more about a person when threads go off topic. It can be frustrating though. Especially if it happens too early before the topic has been addressed.
