Jesus will walk the Earth for the second time. Nay, I told you; He'll walk the Earth and all eyes upon Him. He will become a candle-light in the utterly darkness of the world. Think that you know, but you know not. People will demanding miracles, yet many are still believe not. Know you that He is one of the Prophets? Yea, and one of the five according to Moslem besides Noe with His Ark's building, Abraham and the First-House in Arab, Moses and the Guidance for the Jews, and Mohammad Himself, the descendant of the abandoned Son of Abraham; Ishmael, the Prophet. As for Jesus, He will come again after His Ascending to give another division upon the Earth. The signs are clear, the time is near; The abomination of desolation for the whole world are evil.

The signs are clear the time is near.... has been said by every generation for 2,000 years..

I don't hold my breath.

In another thread you said Jesus was the Messiah of the OT and the Jews are wrong.... where in the OT does it say the Messiah will leave the job half finished and have to come back?

The Jesus Christ was not leave His job half-finished, but he got betrayed and had to face the crucification. That was the main theme of His life. And Jesus was not laid his head on the old-testament to bring new one. He's in a search of His own, though he still can remember the story of the Prophets.

the Crucifixion was a choice on Jesus's part... (I can bring legions) without it there may not be Christianity today...

Matthew 26:24 King James Version (KJV)

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

Really? what does it say in 26:53?

Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

Choice.... the whole garden, take this cup from me?

Just for sake of discussion without accusation or alterior motives, all this is In My Opinion.

The Quran states that no man knows the day, and only Allah (SAW) may know it. Also any many who thinks he knows the day is wrong.

As for the argument by wil, it never says he wouldn't come and then leave and come back again. He had a job to do. And if Allah (SAW) had willed it, it would have been complete. Obviously there were more souls to test. (Islamic POV) Man was not ready for the Messianic Age that is fortold in the OT. There was much more that needed to be taught, but that wasn't the job of the Messiah. In Genesis, Allah (SAW) promises a great nation to Ismail (PBUH) and Isaac (PBUH). If Ismail (PBUH) or his descendants were not to play a big part why did Allah not tell Hagar(PBUHer) to just go, but rather he told her to return to Abram (PBUH) (later Abraham(PBUH)). The OT even mentions that Allah (SAW) spoke to Abraham (PBUH) about him.

Muhammed's (PBUH) job was not to deliver the prophecized (SP?) Messianic Age. He was sent to deliver the word of Allah (SAW) in its entirety. Parts had been brought before by several prophets, but they had degraded over time and some have been lost. Without this full message, the messianic Age would not work as prophecized due to the former messages only being sent to and applied to the Jews. (Jesus (PBUH) stated that his message is not for the gentiles but rather the lost sheep of Israel (Jews) yet the Messianic Age is prophecized to the world.

There are many reasons not to believe Jesus faced the Crucifixion, but that isn't the topic, so I will leave that alone. Also Buddha, why did you only mention 5 Prophets? There are thousands of prophets, over 100 we can get the names of. Some notables you did not mention: David, John, Solomon, Joseph, Adam, and Jonah (PBU them all). All of these are even mentioned directly in Quran.

The difference in the 2 quotes 26:24 and 26:53 is 53 is (literarily at least) Jesus speaking, whereas 24 is someone else (assumed Matthew).

Thanks for reading. Sorry for the length. Salaam Allahikum.

Hi BigJoeNobody –
The Quran states that no man knows the day...
The Bible says much the same thing.

Muhammed's (PBUH) job was not to deliver the prophecized (SP?) Messianic Age.
Quite. Prophets always have the same problems, either they are not believed, or if they are believed, the belief is provisional on God acting according to their expectations.

Parts had been brought before by several prophets, but they had degraded over time and some have been lost.
Sadly the evidence of the world is that the essence of the word is lost almost immediately.

(Jesus (PBUH) stated that his message is not for the gentiles but rather the lost sheep of Israel (Jews) yet the Messianic Age is prophecized to the world.
And yet the Twelve preached to the Gentiles.

There are many reasons not to believe Jesus faced the Crucifixion, but that isn't the topic, so I will leave that alone.
Wise move, I would have thought. Basically, the Crucifixion ordered by Pontius Pilate is as historically certain as many other 'facts' of antiquity.

In the end, there's only one reason to believe or not believe, and that's faith, or the lack of it.

And that is the crux of the biscuit.

Despite it not being 100% certain I have 'faith' the sun will 'rise' tomorrow.

But yes, my skepticism on much of what we discuss has increased I'd say over my time here.

More and more I have faith in what has been shown to be true, not that which requires faith (almost) alone.

Are you saying what you believe is true, because you believe it, or because you believe it, it becomes fact and not faith?

I am saying that I am looking for more validation of what I believe to be true, and the validation increases my faith.

That validation comes from philosophical or logical or scientific discussion, or from personal observation. In all varieties I am also seeing more and more often my understandings are for me, now...and not necessarily for others, or even me....tomorrow, or yesterday.

lol...I was gonna modify it to write "perceived reality"

and my perceived reality is...

does it increase my relationships (my love, appreciation, acceptance, enjoyment, camaraderie) with an ever increasing percentage of my fellow travelors on this ball (whatever variety) or does isolate me?
