Geoffery E. Emerick passed away at the tender age of 72 on October 2nd.

Geoff Emerick was a rather well respected sound engineer and he was the chief sound engineer for a little-known group called The Beatles (he was 15 when he started working at EMI studios with them.)

Who?

Keating was probably the most well-known Trappist since Thomas Merton.

Following Merton's lead, Keating continued the dialogue between West and East, in his case Christianity and Zen Buddhism.

Keating, along with M. Basil Pennington and William Meninger, promoted 'Centering Prayer' as a method of Christian meditation.

Although centering prayer has its critics (including me — no surprises there), it has wide acceptance in the Christian community.

I don't think I missed one single episode of "Hee Haw" - Mom had bought an 8-track audio recorder to attach to our TV and I was charged with recording the sound track from each and every program. Sold the tapes along with the recorder when she passed many years ago. Roy Clark was a big influence on my decision to take up the guitar. Never quite got to his level of expertise though. Man I tell you, it hits hard when the heroes of ones youth pass....
