How Was Your Week?

We've just suffered out third terror attack in three months, the second to take place on a London bridge.

The response of victims, witnesses, by-standers and above all the emergency services, has been heartening, in some instances outstanding.

The covfefe was mixed over here...

It is interesting watching responses from folks who can't remember the IRA era over there or the 60s n 70s here

Ha. I can remember hearing a bomb going off while I was walking home late from work ... I can remember being turfed out of a restaurant in Knightsbridge over a bomb scare ... I got an Irish passport in celebration of the peace agreement, and then the boyos blew up Docklands ...

We had nothing like such responses in those days, young folks are a lot more media-savvy today, and the climate in completely different.

It's interesting here watching our response to your media. The news that London/UK was 'reeling' after the latest attack brought a spate of sarcastic responses, and of course your president is confirmed a complete dick, after having misquoted our mayor: "At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is 'no reason to be alarmed!'"

Frankly, I think you guys have a much greater reason to be alarmed than us

Thomas - I am so sorry y'all had yet another terror act. IRA days notwithstanding...

Frankly, I think you guys have a much greater reason to be alarmed than us

To a large extent I do agree. However, I recall a recent discussion regarding globalization. For those who have not considered it I say we are in the midst. Not just us...et al. :(

spot on on both counts...

And we are more concerned about the trouble diccus in chargus will getus into

A test of our system has been electedm

We don't need radicals from elsewhere. We have plenty of our own idiots here. Jeez -- June one year ago, 49 people were killed in a nightclub in Orlando, Florida and now I am reading that this morning a disgruntled former employee shot and killed five at his former place of employment (unknown place of employment to me) before taking his own life. Where? In Orlando.

Oh, of course... We fear the terrorists we've created abroad... Because we know we did it.

But most real threat to safety here in the states is entirely from within

It's Ramadan. Murder month ...

Thought we were stopping posting after a couple glasses of wine. A citation is requires to keep the above post being declared absolute bigotry. And by that I mean any evidence that there exists increased violence over the past what 10-20 years?

There is no stronger defender than me against Islamic violence causing a backlash against the majority ordinary, decent Moslem people, in the west. But Ramadan is used by jihadis as a time for increased activity against unbelievers. I will have to look it up on a proper computer. I will.

To a large extent I do agree. However, I recall a recent discussion regarding globalization.
I'm with you there. One way or another, we're all in this together.

Meanwhile, my Glastonbury Festival tickets have arrived, although the lineup is not quite so edifying as previous years. Still, the festival for me is about what goes on round the edges, rather than on the main stage.

Ok. Sorry. And the personal insults too, will?
Idk what section we are in... Blatantly condemn a religion and make statement's like that ain't just a loud TV...

And lounge or not, the topic is how is your week... Attacks in your hood, and natural discussions relating to it can happen in the lounge, the pool, or the sauna....and then move on.

Ok, look wil -- you can call me any names you like and chances are you're probably going to be right at least half the time. But you would be wrong to call me a fool -- because that's just what you are saying if you think I would be making bigoted statements on a site like this against 2 billion Moslems -- a-quarter of the world's population.

I was of course responding to earlier comments about attacks I'm London this month, trying to explain why.

I accept the lounge was the wrong place to do it, and of course apologise sincerely to anyone to whom i caused offence.

Moving on ...

And this is to be interpreted how?
The truth that crazed jihadis believe Ramadan a special time to get to paradise by killing unbelievers. The tiny percentage of Moslems who become radicalised enough to die killlng unbelievers for an automatic place in paradise. But i thought we weren't discussing it here?

citation?

Is that some 'crazed jihadis' or all? What is your crazed jihadi?

Until you prove this isn't blatant bigotry and generalization of nonsensical judgemental clap trap... Or start another thread on the subject, it isn't closed.
