Alláh'u'Abhá!

What if the Bahá'i International Community solely addresses the human rights violations of Iran (while ignoring 99% of humanity) in order to pressure UN, namely US, to attack Iran and topple the Islamic regime so that the prophecies of our Most Holy Book (Kitáb-i-Aqdas) will be fulfilled.

Let nothing grieve thee, O Land of Ṭá, for God hath chosen thee to be the source of the joy of all mankind. He shall, if it be His Will, bless thy throne with one who will rule with justice, who will gather together the flock of God which the wolves have scattered. Such a ruler will, with joy and gladness, turn his face towards, and extend his favors unto, the people of Bahá. He indeed is accounted in the sight of God as a jewel among men. Upon him rest forever the glory of God and the glory of all that dwell in the kingdom of His revelation. (k91)

Rejoice with great joy, for God hath made thee “the Dayspring of His light,” inasmuch as within thee was born the Manifestation of His Glory. Be thou glad for this name that hath been conferred upon thee—a name through which the Daystar of grace hath shed its splendor, through which both earth and heaven have been illumined. (k92)

Erelong will the state of affairs within thee be changed, and the reins of power fall into the hands of the people. Verily, thy Lord is the All-Knowing. His authority embraceth all things. Rest thou assured in the gracious favor of thy Lord. The eye of His loving-kindness shall everlastingly be directed towards thee. The day is approaching when thy agitation will have been transmuted into peace and quiet calm. Thus hath it been decreed in the wondrous Book. (k93)

Well....that has been said if Jews and the temple Mount...

And Jesus arranged an ass to ride in on to insure that prophecy...

It happens.

Will,

Good point but my concern is having United States to fulfill this prophecy. Think about how much destruction and human suffering they'll bring. 89% of Iranians are Shias and in my opinion, just as the people of Iran brought on an Islamic revolution, the people of Iran will also have to be the ones to topple it. It is the will of the people who will fulfill this prophecy, not a foreign intervention.

The Baha'i International Community ignores 99% of humanity?

I sure hope we stay out of it....

And also hope Iranians can create the govt they want and not have anything foisted upon them by is or any other entity.

Ahanu,

I'll gladly take back that statement if you can show me an article where the BIC addresses the human rights violations of a country other than Iran.

Take your statement back. The BIC addresses the human rights violations of only BAHA'IS in Iran. No body else. In fact they don't care about humanity a single bit, it's like no other peoples in the world are suffering... Oneness of humanity you were saying?!

Well, they do talk about general concepts like women's rights, interreligious harmony, etc. I just don't want war in Iran or anywhere else in the world and I'm afraid that Bahá'i fanatics may lobby the US to war so they can speed up the process of having our prophecies fulfilled.

You have the right to be concerned. The manner that Bani Dugal, the Baha'i representative to the UN lobbies against Iran and the manner that Baha'is continuously lobby against Iran in the United States using anti-Iran hawks like Senator Mark Kirk, then I wouldn't be surprised if Baha'i fanatics under the guidance of the UHJ caused an outright war against Iran. It's ironic how their calls for peace and oneness of humanity simply disappear when the matter of Iran is brought forward.

Butterfly_Wings,

Religious fanaticism is expressly prohibited in the Faith and it is my opinion that any violence, directly or indirectly, perpetrated in the name of religion is a form of religious fanaticism. Hence, to lobby the US to wage war with Iran is a prime example and I pray that God will prevent such a catastrophe. The Faith like any other has its own share of fanatics. Some, for example, take part in an Islamic fanatical practice called, "takfir", which is the act of declaring someone to be an infidel in order to silence, disparage, harm, or even kill him. Fortunately, they are unable to do this in real life since every Bahá'i including myself is a card-holder and only the Administrative Order can declare someone as a non-member or even worse, a covenant-breaker. In the virtual world, however, Bahá'is are permitted to hide behind pseudonyms and that is where the takfir begins as it has been done to me numerous time in this forum for expressing a few controversial opinions. Keep in mind that I never questioned the Covenant - lesser or greater - as I firmly believe. Well, it happens I guess and I should just forgive and forget. The most important thing to is to not let the actions of Bahá'is to speak for of the Faith. Look at the Writings. This is my last post in this forum and I wish you all of the best.

Baha'i International Community would not advocate the use of arms to "topple the Islamic regime". Read the purpose of the Baha'i International Community:

All human beings “have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization,” according to the sacred scriptures of the Baha'i Faith.

The notion that every nation, community, and person has a part to play in building a peaceful and prosperous global society is central to the work of the Baha'i International Community’s offices.
Our efforts seek to reflect this vision and are informed by a number of related convictions:
  • That humanity is in the midst of an ongoing process of spiritual, moral, social, and scientific development.
  • That it stands today at the threshold of a new stage of global connection and interdependence.
  • That the hallmark of this stage will be growing awareness of the oneness of humankind—a principle that will come to infuse all facets of organized life.
