What NON-POLITICAL, NON-RELIGIOUS Headlines Are You Following?

I apologize but pets stay home or everyone goes by auto imo. If the family was moving overseas, there are other ways to ship pets that don't involve planes. Oh, and French bulldogs are not anatomically suited for air travel anyway.

I don't know about that and doubt a 28 hour car ride would have been a viable alternative, but as United readily admits, callously stuffing a living creature into an overhead bin is what led to the puppy's demise.

"We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family...." A United spokesman told CNN

Me, I'd have gotten off the flight or at least asked to speak to the pilot first.

United does not have the best track record when it comes to pet safety either.

According to a US Department of Transportation report issued in February, 24 animals died in the care of US carriers last year. Three-quarters of those, 18, died while being handled by United. Of 15 reported injuries, 13 occurred with United.

Then yesterday, same airline:

Dog bound for Kansas mistakenly shipped to Japan via United Airlines

United Airlines wrongly shipped a Kansas-bound pet dog to Japan, the second embarrassment this week for the airline and a "nightmare" for the Swindle family -- who are moving from Oregon to Wichita with their beloved pet, a 10-year-old German shepherd named Irgo. CNN

Not having a carrier that fits under the seat....one that doesn't block the aisle.... I as well have never and don't ever have intentions of flying commercial air with an animal.

UAs record it 2.11 deaths per 10,000 pets traveled.... that sounds like a pretty good record to me...but the industry average is .05 deaths per 10,000....

If you do care about a pet...I wouldn't fly United with them....this is public record.

Parts of Chinese Space Station Could Crash to Earth

"China's first-ever space laboratory, Tiangong-1, will fall to Earth within the next week and, weather permitting, you may get an opportunity to see it in one of its final trips around our planet. And, if you're very lucky, you might even get a chance to see it disintegrate into a fiery ball as it streaks across the sky."

I think those last two are the first two I've been 'following' and will be 'following'. Most are one shot wonders that fly by and are gone...

The space ship will be...but I will be also anticipating 'following' it for the next week.

The Sac shooting...I will be following but will also unfortunately fall into the abyss as short attention spans, overiding more bad news and status quo squeeze it out...for almost all but the family and friends.

Judge brutally berates woman in wheelchair who later died
The judge has since resigned

"A Broward County circuit judge delivered a blistering, arm-waving, face-palming, tongue-lashing to a frail, out-of-breath woman — pushed into court in a wheelchair — who was facing misdemeanor charges following a family feud.

Three days later, the defendant died."

Yeah, he was a cop from 73-79, got fired for stealing dog food and a hammer - weird.

I guess some may use this as an example of "bad cops", and although I'm totally against police brutality, I think this particular situation belongs more in the category of "psychos".

Ken Jeong Jumps Off Stage to Help Woman Having Seizure During His Stand-Up Set

"Ken Jeong is more than a comedian, he's also a lifesaver! The 48-year-old actor -- best known for playing crazy Spanish teacher Ben Chang on Community and insane naked mobster Mr. Chow in The Hangover -- proved he's got much more in common with his character from his short-lived sitcom Dr. Ken when he jumped into action to save a woman with a medical emergency during a stand-up set over the weekend."
